So glad I got to meet Tommy about 12 years ago. He was at a restaurant in Westlake Village CA I was playing at. We were outside talking to him on a break. I asked if he was still doing the yo-yo thing. He said yes and actually pulled a yo-yo out of his sock and starting doing tricks. This actually happened. Totally funny and super nice guy.

While I knew of all of them, I didn't watch the show every night, so I never saw this routine, so they got me good. I was wondering why are they going to the stage to do a 10-second bit. This whole scene with his impersonation and then the 2 of them doing the 'dog' routine, I was ROTFLMAO. I also want to mention that the title had me confused, which I didn't understand until he did. May he RIP. p.s., wasn't that chevy chase there as well?

Wendy Liebman is a fine stand-up. I don't know about teams. There was a very promising one that broke up much too soon after doing an unforgettable Time Machine sketch.

I was in high school during the late sixties when The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour was on TV. That show held huge appeal for all kinds of folks! My conservative parents loved those two talented guys and the rest of the cast as much as I did. I’ll remember Tommy and Dick fondly, forever. This appearance of theirs on Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show was a real classic and still is.

Thanks be to the gods of the archives. So much of this quality was lost before we knew how to preserve the broadcasts economically. This will still be funny in 100 years.

As you get older you realize there are generational truths. Being a kid in the 80's/90's you'd remember how your parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles said how much simpler "things"were. Now, looking back on the 80's/90's you can easily say "things were so much simpler, and more innocent" back then. Makes you wonder how much worse "things" are going to get. It's an odd thing. Are "things" going to get so much worse that 30 years from now we look back at this time and say the same thing? Or do you think there will be a catalyst to actually change "things" to the point that we say "wow, "we" were pretty crazy, circling the drain back in 2023, but since - - - - - - we are, as a whole so much more civil, caring, and family oriented".
