@@anthonyorme US dollars, it can be less though. We just got back from 9hrs touring around Kyiv oblast today we found a nice plot in Sharky, a bit further out at about 1hr 25min from Kyiv. It’s 33 Sotok which is 3300m2, the seller wants 5K USD. The neighbors are great, young couple with a few kids, they have big block, 5300m2 with a great huge garden, a big Shepard called Max and kittens. They were very kind and helped us locate the property it is so overgrown, they also gave us about 2kg of apricots and plums off their trees. The abandoned datcha is covered in vines and the whole block would need a few days of brush cutting and chainsaw but interestingly the building seems to be made of cob and is in great condition. I think we will buy it subject to the documents being verified.

Can someone explain how the apartment costs 1600 USD per month? It is small and is under threat of missile attack in a country at war. Average salary is about 500 Euros per month in Ukraine. I would have expected 200 or 300 per month for rent.

I also have a few owner-occupied apartments that I rent out. But we have written agreements with the tenant that I, the owner of the apartment, cannot enter with my own keys if it is rented. This would be a crime. That's why I was wondering, what do you do, when you go inside the apartment? 🤨🤭 I also hope you find balance in your life and when you find it, home is also the most important place to be. You don't have to travel a round and to look for happiness everywhere. Have a nice summer time to you & Lordy. 🐾😊👍🌞🌳🌻

leaving a newly renovated apartment is incomprehensible to me. You should have bought a small house outside Kyiv like where you once were and looked around a bit. The apartment that you own is very nice and you did a great job having it remodeled. I wouldn’t have moved to your new place, but if it was an opportunity to make some money for some months, then finish the plan. Your new place is a dump, imo, and not very comfortable. Chalk it up to making a few bucks and learning about a new neighborhood. Now you know. Stop lamenting and follow through with the plan. Hadn’t finished the video before I wrote this. From what you’ve shown us, that district seems pretty sleepy, as well. You can live in the center and still settle down. You don’t have to eat out all them time. I lived in the city center for years and was grounded and at home. I’m confused by your logic, but that’s okay. Good luck.

Very good stream Johnny. A mix of reminiscing and philosophizing. If we don't take stock of where we are in life, then we won't make the best decisions going forward. Living in the restaurant quarter is kind of a double-edged sword I guess - making good use of them means putting on weight, stretching your budget and passing on a more frugal, sustainable eating regime. Yet choosing to ignore them would make you question the point of living among them. I can see why a nice park might be preferable, especially if you like dogs. Restaurants are all a short drive from where I live, and I am lucky enough to be just a quarter mile walk from nice sandy beaches. That works for me. The temptation to eat out is less compelling.

Johnny... When you're on your own, what suits your lifestyle the best? Stuff or companionship? Can you work towards both again somehow? That's how I work out what my next move will be in life, and what sort of home and lifestyle I'm heading towards, what my ideal or closer to it would look like, as a single person. I have my fave catchphrase... Follow your bliss! Deep down inside, (don't answer), who's Johnny? Lordy is such a gentle and loyal companion. I'll miss my own furry companionship until I've relocated and resettled to a proper homely home again. That exposed brickwork and distressed woodwork is my idea of pleasant too. I hope to do things like that to my next place. And my sofa, etc., better be able to come with me or I'll just pine for that extension of myself... "What's that song, Wherever I lay my hat.. that's my home" I take that to mean the stuff you choose to suit what you want around you, it's kinda the hat, mebee? I think wise to have not gone back for those two weeks, or you'd maybe have started missing it more. Can't beat a good park or natural space though, in my mind. I'd be too unrelaxed in a city, where one's sloppy Joes aren't acceptable attire 😂😉

The stupidest comment ever 🤣🤣🤣 great advice to put his money in property in one place and not any one place but Kiev that is in a country which is currently is in war and it's future is uncertain both in the short term and in the long term 🤣🤣🤣 I think it's time for you to get a couple of property investments in Kiev yourself!

Johnny I feel for you brother - One of my favourite ever of your VLOGs was the one where you gave us the VIP Apartment Tour after you'd completed your renovations and had fully furnished it. The thing is that the rental situation is only for a year so hopefully you can move back in after that as I'd love to see you back there living your best life.

Don't give up your apartment yet! Stay in your rented apartment for this summer, then go on your winter retreat and move back into your own apartment when you come back next year. Didn't your tenant only want to live there temporary anyway? Or maybe next year, you and your tenant become roommates. Maybe you fall in love while dohng so.

As you walked out of the restaurant there were pretty flowers painted on the archway of the restaurant. I understand this is often found in Ukraine on both inside and outside of homes. My friend does this painting style and she's doing a lot of it here. She has painted me some lovely pictures.🌸💮🌼🪻

I'm not surprised in the slightest, i think the whole idea was stupid in the first place but anyway, just search for a cheaper SUV and sell the current one, the cost of gas alone should be enough reason to do it IMO, regardless if you use it a lot or not.

He probably drives under 5000km a year. I asume it consumes 10 liters/100km. Some other car might take 5 liters. If fuel costs 1,5 €/lite, 5/100 x 5000 × 1,5 = 375 €. Is that really worth the trouble of changing the car?
