I liked this first episode, but I missed the histrionic style of Miguel Sapochnik in season 1.

I prefer Alan Taylor's direction. Especially when it comes to scenes in the dark. Sapochnik directed The Long Night on GoT and Driftmark on HotD. Both of those episodes had extremely dark scenes. (Alan Taylor directed Baelor and Dance of the Dragons in season 1 of GoT -episodes 9&10.) I can't imagine how Maegor's tunnels would have looked otherwise...

​@@liamdamon I remember reading him blaming it on the cinemaphotographer. Either way, If your account is right about that, I'm not referring to the visually dark episodes as that which determines what I think Miguel exceeded at. He had a way to make each episode hit a continual peak every few minutes; quiet, contemplative scenes, followed by small climactic scenes, & repeating these beats throughout each episode. His approach was almost similar to melodrama, where the episode in its entirety did not seem drawn out & slow with only the exciting climax at the very end. That's what *_I'm_* missing.

Nobody pays attention to Sister Queen. She said " I'm afraid of the rats" to the King but they see her as looney tunes First episode always traumatizing bur it's a good episode
