I cooked a 3 pound chuck roast like this last night for my daughter and son in law last night. Oh my, it was a hit. I seldom cook for anybody but myself anymore. I can see many family dinners in our future. I had my doubts about the veggies, but they were perfect! Thank you for you time and trouble. Keep them coming.....the roast and veggies were almost all consumed😊👍

Hi John, I got 8qt Ninja a couple of weeks ago and have done different kinds of meals that turned out pretty good. Tonight I'm make a Chuck Roast like your video. My roast is like 3.94 pounds so I'm pressure cooking it for an hour and a half. That is the stage I'm at in making. I have all the vegetables that you used. The only thing different that I'm going to do is add some seasoning to it to make it taste better. Don't know what I'm going to use...but will decide when I'm at that adding the vegetables. I'm sure its going to turn out great. I'm going to subscribe.

Making this recipe today (March 25, 2019). Only items I did not have on hand (and forgot to get when I ran to the store [insert forehead slap here] are the mushrooms and the celery. Caught so much much potatoes, “Frankenstein” carrots, and cabbage at the Irish/Italian parade yesterday here in New Orleans, that I decided to combine the veggies with this roast recipe. Purchase a 6lb Boston Butt roast from Sam’s Club, and trying out using the Chicken Bone Broth for the 1st time. Roast seasoned, stuffed with Garlic, seared and almost done on PC mode (1:20-. hoping that is going to be enough pc time). House smells absolutely AMAZING!! Veggies will more than likely have to be done in batches (6.5 qt Foodi) If it tastes anything like it smells, the END RESULT is going to be beyond words!

Came out very good & flavorful, but I think it could have been a bit more tender. Maybe it was the cut of meat-Butt Roast (was not as marbled as I would have liked it to have been)-or maybe because it was a larger cut of meat (6lbs), it should have either have been a COMPLETE NR, or NR’d for a longer time before QR’d. Was aiming to keep it whereby it would be tender & juicy, yet still able to be sliced, vs that of a shredded consistency. Majority of the time, I generally use about the same size roast as demo’d in the videos, but having quite a few more family members over for my daughter’s b-day tonight, hence the larger cut of meat. But I do like the recipe. Extremely Flavorful! That Bone Broth does wonders for adding flavor!

I didn't but sometimes the broth or other items have a lot in them... but it is really dependant on your taste...I would just taste at a point that the meat is done and then add seasoning accordingly...I think that is the best way to assure not over seasoning...I hope this helps and thank you for trying the recipe!!!

John...we LOVE your videos! You do a truly great job. Question for you sir: Can the chuck roast be pressure-cooked immersed in the broth, or does it need to be on the rack immediately above the broth? The reason I ask is I watched another chuck roast video and the person placed the roast directly in the broth. Thank you!
@JohnSanders
@JohnSanders 4 жыл бұрын
It probably could but I always use the trivet or at least a few vegetables to lift it off of the bottom just so the heat can disperse and heat the entire broth more even... and help from getting a burn light... hope this helps, glad to hear you enjoy my videos and thanks for watching!!!

Where did you get that Lazer looking temperature gun at that you checked the oil temp with? Where can I buy me one of those??? Can it check meats etc???
@JohnSanders
@JohnSanders 5 жыл бұрын
I got it at Sams club but my local club does not carry it any more...but you need an instant read thermometer with a probe to test the internal temp of meats....that infrared thermometer you see is a very handy device and not that expensive...I think I gave twenty five bucks for that one!

I find that the meat i cook in the ninja is always perfect (if i follow directions) where in the old days it was a game of chance. didn't matter if i did it in the oven or slow cooker i couldn't know for sure my meat would be tender and tasty. changed my life.

John I don't know why you were fretting about the celery because it turned out great! it's the same result as if you would have cooked it in a slow cooker and celery cooked all the way through is always better than a crisp stalky celery. No one wants that in their pot roast.

Why did you cook the roast for an hour then take it out and cook it longer? Wouldnt that over cook it? Also, what’s then on t do your next step why not just throw it all in there at once? Nvm just cooked it and it came out amazing. Made it for my wife and I.
