Fished long beach -oak island last weekend.Did ok.Gear wasn't exactly my favorite stuff(need a 2 cents screw &3 centspring for 2 best 2000 series reels.finnore&Peen)anyhow...great haloween day.going back a few more times.Topsail and some other spots N&S of there.1 rod,fixed Reel ,bucket& netVery.small box of spare tackel.keep it simple.Hope you have time to fish more this fall.enjoy your videos.that spot that is fenced up near Fisher was killer pre fence.Sneak sometimes when it's worth the risk.L8r

Great video. Been vacationing there for 25 years.. never tried shore fishing. New sub here, maybe I'll try to learn something prior to this year's trip later this Summer. It looked like a Carolina rig (no pun) setup correct. Some Barrel leads and a number 8 hook? Fish on!

Thank you! That would be awesome. Yes I used a carolina rig with either shrimp or sand fleas. I also used a bottom rig. I would go with a size 4 hook but the 8 did get the job done, lost 0 fish with it!

I know exactly where you are. I've always had good luck fishing the rocks on a incoming tide and at peck high tide.

Ft.Fisher is beautiful but has always been crazy when i go there. The waves had whitecaps as far as you could see both times i went it.. 6oz wouldnt stick. Ill have to give it another go. So many choices in NC

I just went on a fishing trip with my dad and we caught black drum, flounder, speckled trout, we caught a few baby redfish it was so fun like 2 weeks ago

You can usually find something biting all year round! Whiting, drum, sheepshead, puffers, trout, bluefish, etc.

I mainly use Carolina rig..fine tune weight to bare min for conditions.appears you know the deal..PRESENTATION!ever seen those guys "SQUISHING".??. Wet suits zip lock bag of live,eels,Stripers at night. Sitting on submerged rocks.up farther north somewhere.you would like it I bet.I may try it someday.never caught a saltwater striped bass before.YET!take care.get finished with school and get a job near the beach.any beach.Dont take anything away from easy accessible surf fishing or your soul will wither away.no amount of $ is worth that slow death.I had a beautiful baby girl 9 years ago.Mother had some problems resurface unfortunately.under control now.FINALLY getting back into the surf lately.Rusty but by next fall I will be better than ever.branching out some.getting a cart something like yours. 52 in December.tiered of lugging a bucket.not to bad and will leave the cart behind sometimes.conditions& situation will dictate.peace!

It's ridiculous. If I would have edited in all the times I had to tell people I'm obviously still fishing in that hole it would have gotten old lol. I wanted to keep the video happy. I would take something to the cooler and walk back to people creeping into the spot..
