So glad that KJT was able to bring it & win her 2nd WC Gold Medal! Can't wait for KJT vs Thiam vs Hall vs Sulek @Paris '24 🔥At 28, Taliyah Brooks with a 12.61 100mH PB & 6.78m LJ PB should seriously consider committing to one of those 2 individual events given the sheer amount of DNFs she's had in her Heptathlon career to date, it's an insane amount of DNFs!

As someone who's watched, pretty much, her entire career so far, it's been far from a smooth ride (from the early promise, to the disappointments, to the many injuries & mental struggles she's had). But nobody can take away how much she's improved in her weakest events (I still remember the regular 11m shot puts & 36-38m javelins) & how much heart she's shown to fight back from a torn Achilles & become world champion again. She's truly ascended to being one of the greats of all-time.

If the time invested by hept athletes training on 7 different sport is invested on one sport only. Imagine how good they will be.
@nimeshpatel4572
@nimeshpatel4572 Жыл бұрын
The athletes that specialise in any one of these events (esp the throwing events and the long/high jumps) are leaps and miles beyond the hep athletes and you can see that from their body types too - more power and mass. And they can't be specialist in the more athletic events i.e. hurdles/running. Hep athletes' body types don't suit the power throwing exercises but they suit the running more. They can invest time but their bodies aren't tailored/trained for that, there are limitations (mostly for javelin, shotput, long jump, maybe high jump?) but that's exactly what makes them special as all-rounders - also they need to compete flat out for 2 days and need the mental side for that time also. A bit like tri-athletes, I have admiration for multi-discipline athletes because it takes MORE than even a single event, to be good across the board I believe. Going for a single event may be easier (depending on event).

. @MrOldun That's the answer. The BBC do not like winners, that's not being inclusive. Let's just mention the loosers like Asher Smith in the 100 mtrs. More interested in her nails, fashion and music rather than competing.

I’m English and confused. If the UK is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the athletics team is called Great Britain and Northern Ireland, why oh why on earth can the team not be simply titled team UK??? Makes little to no sense. Team UK would save an awful lot of arsing around cramming that enormous team name onto the vests. As an aside by the time they’ve attached their numbers the Northern Ireland bit disappears beneath and all you can see is Great Britain, which is at best disrespectful, at worst insulting. Our country is so stupid sometimes.

Achilles injuries are tough mentally too, you can subconsciously take the foot off the gas by 5% (sometimes more) scared to suffer another injury on it and that makes the difference. But she competed nevertheless - mentally as well as physically. A hep is not about any singular event and she knows that from experience - she cracked on with the other events and kept herself in contention - and that kick on the final half of the 800m to claw it in - just wow! It wasn't a processionary 800m for the gold, she had to find that extra gear to win it and she did. Amazing win!

Her near perfect height and weight ratio,looks, posture, fluffyless, lean and fitness makes her a min 7 at the least and she knows it. To think she is not even in her prime!!! Ah wow, one can only hope she naturally has a matching feminine character, yet to get run through as opposed to today's self destructive ways that tend to permanently damage most women.
