I watched all of this series. Awesome demolitions!

I was surprised to see all the bare steel studs in the space beyond at 37:00. Did they strip off the wallboard in that section before starting this phase?
@JohnZWetmore3 жыл бұрын
They were working inside for months before they started outside. I do not know exactly what they removed.
@constructionwatcher53813 жыл бұрын
@@JohnZWetmore Thanks. It's interesting they removed the wallboarding, which I'd think was trashed, and not the studs, which could be re-cycled. Maybe it's easier to recover the studs now with the wallboard off?

Has anyone else seen anything during the demolition that you said, WAIT! I wanted that? Or, someone could have used that?

I may be wrong, but it seems like the concrete was not bonded well with a lot of that horizontal rebar. Not the lattice in the floors, but the big ones that ran from left to right, vice versa in our image. Maybe that was by design, I don't know?

Hello John, i`m really going to enjoy your videos from now on without the constant pesky adverts showing up and the way to do that is to join KZbin premium. I`m afraid they have us over a barrel here. Its a shame its all about them getting as much money as they can but, that seems like the way of the world today. Still, its worth it and i suggest to everyone who hasn`t got it to try it. The 1st month is free then its £12 per month after that.

Some of those sections of concrete are really thick. That telescoping longfront boom is amazing and gives them a lot of reach, but limits the size of shear they can use. Several places, like at 1:01:44 you can see the shear sliding off rather than just breaking up the concrete. It looks like a bigger one would work better if the rig could handle it.

Good view, John. Lots of well done shots. How long did this entire demolition take?
@JohnZWetmore3 жыл бұрын
I've been filming since March 9, and they still have the entire front portion of the building left to go at the end of April.

@@JohnZWetmore Thanks. I hope to see some video of the next section when they get to that.

The efficiency is super slow, first put the building down, and then decompose it quickly
