A possible easier solution would be to setup windows deployment services and use PXE boot to image all machines at once, you can even pre-configure software u want to have installed on them and also have them automatically join the domain by modifying the config script.

Question for you? In terms of setting up software as you mentioned(email etc.) Wouldnt it be smarter to image those computers with the standard software needed? Your videos are great!
@Jobskillshare Жыл бұрын
Yes, that's a normal standard to image one machine call it master or golden image but in some cases softwares can be tricky to image. We cover this approach in the imaging skills thanks

As a relative Newbie to all the concepts in this particular video, I want to truly thank and say "Marhaba" to Dear Danish for all the hard work and excellent education to us in these highly valuable videos. I did have a few questions, and I hope someone can kindly help me clarify. These questions have to do with this video. Please bear in mind that at the time I am writing this question, I have not watched any other videos that may relate to this Lab project. However, I have completed all the videos in the Course (Entry level to Specialist) which includes the Active Directory Training stuff. So on to my questions please: 1) Early on in this awesome video, dear Danish explains that he has a piece of white printer paper next to each of his new Lab Machines, which contains the Computer Name, Username (user logon name), and temporary password written on that paper. This helps us save any lookup for computer names and user account information, and makes perfect sense. However, I wanted to know if here... we should be assuming that these three values come directly from that specific user's original computer? I mean to say.... Did Danish most likely take that piece of paper for each user to their original computer and write down this information, and then use them when he imaged these new lab machines? That's what I imagine he must have done. I ask because as I think i understood it, here we were assuming that Danish is setting up some users to start using these new lab machines... and that in order to setup these new lab desktops, he is simply copying (using) the same Computer Name, Username, and temporary password that came from that user's original computer? 2) At some point in the video, Danish kindly shows us that he is activating the user's email account on Outlook. And here, I think we are to understand that this Outlook program he is setting up, simply connects into that user's Office 365 account, and uses that user's existing Office 365 Username and Password in order to activate their Outlook email program. If I am not mistaken, this Outlook Username is that user's Office 365 email address (which they have had setup for their Office 365 account). Furthermore, I would guess that the password that Danish is supplying to this Outlook setup wizard, is the password that the user ordinarily uses to log into their online Office 365 portal account (the same Office 365 web portal password which had been working on their original Computer.) My question is the following: Since this user's new Lab computer is connecting (logging on to) Active Directory, are we to assume that Outlook will grab this Outlook username (that is... the user's Email) from Active Directory? And how about the Password that is required by this Outlook Wizard? Is this password the password that is used by this user to log on to this workstation? or is this Outlook Password actually their office 365 password? So I am trying to figure out where some of these user logon credentials that were not explained in too much detail in the video, are actually coming from? Thank you guys! I think some clarifications on these two details above would make this video even that much more clear and useful to myself and possibly others here who may be wondering about these same details? I will taking my Free hands-on course which is based on real world examples www.jobskillshare.org/course/help-desk-entry-level/ This course is a study of Help administration and real-world skills, including how to manage system resources (users, group users, and system storage). By the completion of this course, you will be able to configure, secure, manage users, and apply user- and host-based security. You will participate in Project labs and evaluate system administration concepts as they apply to real world scenarios.

For labs I would recommend any computer with 64bit process and at least 16GB ram. It may sound a little overkill for a normal user but for an IT you would need this much ram to run virtual machines from one computer. In my course I have videos on how to set up labs for practice.

Should definitely be saving files to the server and redirect the folders instead.
