Emmanuel Mondesir Araki doesn't like his old manly style, that's the thing. In SBR things were complicated, while they were manly mentally literally none of their stands were. Tusk went from cute to fucking horrifying, but there was no manly stage. Araki has admitted himself that he prefers writing stories about horror and suspense rather than the "LET'S FIGHT" style stories of Vento Aureo, Battle Tendency and Stardust Crusaders. He also hates Phantom Blood. Part 4 and 7 are his favorite parts BECAUSE they're more built around scary shit and character development than the other parts.
