The thing that makes the Joker a threat is his madness and intellect. It’s his manipulation, planning, and tactics that get the drop on heroes. He plans things out to a ridiculous degree before the battle with the heroes ever begin. Things don’t happen randomly with the Joker ever, even if he makes it look like it. A good example of this is in the Dark Knight movie when he’s in the Hospital with Dent. Until someone pointed it out to me, I never noticed he was holding the hammer of the gun back. I thought he genuinely was willing to play a game of chance, but he was never really in danger. And just like when Batman made the contingency plan against the League, the Joker approaches things different for each hero and psychologically manipulates them so that he doesn’t have to actually fight them, because he’s not a moron and would know he would lose in a fight like that.

I've had a theory that The Joker is actually a Batman from the future, where he failed to save the world at a pivotal point and it broke him. So he goes back in time, kills a C-list villain off to take over their identity and then makes his mission to push himself from the past further and further and to make him stronger and stronger emotionally, physically and mentally. Hence why Joker just goes into a catatonic state when Batman disappears. A time traveler theory would even account for what he did to Jason Todd knowing he'd become a badass hero called The Red Hood.

@@TheCat_3 you know I kinda find it hard to believe that he didn’t realize that time was flowing differently? because if you take all the speeds of the characters as portrayed and not as seen in the shows and movies flash ends up being just under the speed of sound due to always being visible in the frames, same with Superman, even though we know from the comics he’s way faster if we believe only what the depiction of time is in the show we end up with something different, same with speaking events where we’re supposed to believe they’re talking that much in such a short amount of time, the answer is obviously time is not depicted as its flowing so it’s reasonable to assume joker is moving faster than depicted, and judging by the fact that the last man just had his gun drawn is the more accurate assumption

In a lot of ways, Batman and Joker are the same person. They both are skilled combatants, they both have a wealth of resources, and they both utilize fear to take out their enemies. The two things that separate them are Batman's code and Joker's affinity for chaos. It's essentially Batman fighting an unhinged version of himself which the writers actualized in the form of the Batman Who Laughs. One of Joker's most famous lines, "It only takes one bad day" is actually true for Batman's situation. He even admitted that if he didn't have his code or other people to keep him from doing so, he would end up becoming the Joker, or something worse. That is why the Joker is such a huge threat. After all, it's not exactly easy to fight someone who lusts for chaos and doesn't fear death.

In one of the animated series, we see him catch up with his parents' killer wanting so desperately to exact revenge himself. In the end however, while he didn't directly kill Joe, Batman is still responsible for his death. One wrong step and Batman becomes a villain.

Joker is actually quite well trained, it seems random and clumsy but that's purposefully done in many martial arts. He's always up against batman, or in the clip you showed deadshot so he seems less skilled than he is because he's up against the most skilled fighters in the entire DC. And he is extremely smart, he has an IQ of 160, so he's literally a genius. He makes most of his gadgets and gases, so those hand shock things that melt humans... he makes those, his teeth choppy things that can chomp through limbs... he makes those. He runs the entire crime underworld of Gotham, that takes a lot of skill and intelligence. The Injustice movie a great veiw of this. He completely destroyed superman in a day, a single day. He made a gas that made superman kill Lois and his son, which triggered a nuke that destroyed metropolis and several superheros.
