We are going through this with my stepkids. Their mother is severely bipolar and acts like a friend, not a parent, and constantly lies and manipulates them. It’s so sad because now, they’re both heavy marijuana users at 17 and 19. They’re having sex in their mothers’ home, and both have severe mental health problems. I prefer they not be around our 5 year old because they are highly inappropriate and doom and gloom all the time. We hope for them to recover one day and them come back to us healthy but as long as their mother has her claws in them, it won’t happen as that is sad for them.

Everyone loves to blame Kate. Kate is we all know, a A type personality. She has always been like that and that is just her. However, it takes two to tango and I am sure Jon is not innocent in the breakup of their relationship. He knew what type of personality Kate was when they were dating. I think they initially, of course, did it because of the money. They were raising 8 kids. On an average salary, it's difficult to raise one or two, but they had 8. The increased money from the network helped a lot, but the kids paid the ultimate price.

Kate is the one who refused to let the six remaining kids see Hannah and Collin due to Jon having custody of them. Jon stated in 2012, when he won custody of Hannah, that Kate could visit Hannah any time she wanted, and when Jon won custody of Collin once again, Jon said Kate could see Collin anytime she wants.

Jon wanted to shut filming down and forbid his kids from being on the show anymore, and he was completely out gunned.
