Just goes to show ya don't Need to start an outdoor tackle show on the bank to catch fish. Just nets, a seat, rod or pole, few bits and bobs and the essential flask. Great vid from one of my favourite anglers. 👍🏻🎣

Yet another great, NO, Fantastic lesson on canal fishing, the camera work, I assume done by you alone? is outstanding. On & off your box I would imagine? Couldn't see where your pole was going behind? maybe a tall roller? or" your net bag in the hedge. Im at home looking after my wife at the moment, bless her, She had a stroke last week, so just out of hospital. So keep em coming ja. Just read the introduction,, Matrix Fishing.

The camera work is done by a Matrix Cameraman! The pole was just going into the hedge behind. Hope you enjoy the videos, don't forget to hit subscribe to be notified when our new videos are out!

@@ifishmatrix Thoroughly enjoyed the video, thank you. Did it not damage the pole? passing it through the hedge? Ive just started buying Matrix stuff, Because of Jon Aurther, He wouldn't put his name to anything not worthy. Jon is a very highly skilled Angler, and video producer. keep em comming.

Hi Jon, I love watching your videos as they seem more in contact with everyday angler's it great to see you on the canal , i haven't fished that stretch for a very long time and used to love going there, i normally fish around long itchington, by two boats or the pounds above Bue lias, and the other stretches around there, the piggeries is a nice quiet stretch above welsh road where there used to be some big perch and Tench , if I'm using punch, slop or otherwise i like to put some minced worm and hemp which seems to draw the bigger bream and roach, id love to hear your opinion on this as some decry it as not a viable method but Gudgeon, roach and Bream seem to home in on this.

If it works for you, that's all you need to know! I know and have fished all those bits you've mentioned. Had a 16lb 8oz carp when I was 12 years old at the Pig Farm, below the double lock, and was in the Angling Times with it! Many fond memories from all of that. Such as shame HS2 is ploughing through some of it!
@sillybait13293 жыл бұрын
@@JonArthur I remember seeing a big carp swimming near the lock's a few people hooked it but never landed it, Two Boats used to be brilliant for Tench till the rebuilt the bridge and towpath, they seemed to just disappear, which was a mystery
@JonArthur3 жыл бұрын
@@sillybait1329 Stockton Straight still has tench apparently, although I cannot remember the last time I caught one on the GUC.
@sillybait13293 жыл бұрын
@@JonArthur the last Tench I caught near there was before they ripped out the reed bed opposite two boats, there used to be some near the willows by the back of Stockon Res and occasional ones at Welsh road

One of the 1st things that I learnt on the Oxford canal winter league's, but especially important on the K+A canal , u can't have your net moving about through your short lines! !! ☺
@robthomas21333 жыл бұрын
Yep defo a good tip got taught that as a junior in derby aa matches :) also not to ship your pole accross the tow path unless you want an expensive repair bill :)
@kurtiskrasniuk87233 жыл бұрын
thanks for this i really enjoyed learning bout how you fish over the pond, i play a few fishing games that setup exactly how you are in this video, from the bait thing u sling over ur shoulder and the long reelless rods, with floats, i love it, do you ever eat anything u fish for?

A real mixture of bungs. Pole Nose Cones and Pole Doctor do the nose cones. Some old discontinued EVA ones at the other end, although I have the new MTX Section Protectors too now.

Do you cut the crusts off before liquidising your bread

No I almost always leave the crusts on. I've seen no evidence that crusts fill the fish up more, so no point in wasting it.

The Tom O The Wood is currently still closed and also not sure they allow weekend parking for anglers any more without permission, so anywhere in the village that's safe and not obstructing traffic.

@iggie14393 жыл бұрын
If its not match fishing why would you use a keep net. Just put the fish straight back into the water. All you do is put the fish into stress for no reason.
