My parents lived in the Soviet Union and both loved Bon Jovi! Many years later I discovered Bon Jovi myself and still am a huge fan. My first concert ever was in Stockholm, when I was fifteen, and it was the Crush tour. It was one of the best moments of my life. I knew every word of every song of every album and I was singing along the whole time (I compensated for the whole Soviet). :)

Yeah, he actually has some good songs, I will admit it, but just a few for me just the main hits. Yet, I can recognise he is an icon and his music is not so bad, it´s like Bono from U2, there are a couple songs and they guy is cool. I grew up with some of their music so I can relate to why people like them.

R Mc The Bee Gees (Disco pop) and The Jackson Five (soul pop) got inducted in the the 90s, before even Springsteen, Queen or Aerosmith were inducted. Madonna got in the same year Leonard Cohen did, and neither one is actually a rock star, and they did get in a year befor Metallica did. The year after that ABBA got in, years before acts like Alice Cooper, Tom Waits or Neil Diamond got in. And this year, together with Bon Jovi, Nina Simone, an R&B artist, will be inducted as well. So if you're looking for purity, you're looking at the wrong place. And Bon Jovi is way more rock than a lot of the other artist already inducted over the years.

Of course they deserve to be in the Hall of fame. 130million albums is no mean feat, it's a very elite club for rock musicians especially those who are still active and touring. They were influential maybe not in the traditional sense as it was nothing groundbreaking, but they 100% were mine and millions of others gateway into rock music. It was great pop hooks with rock music, radio friendly and polished but with excellent songwriting and musicianship. There is a LOT more to this band than their 80s output, some of their best songwriting is from the 90s and even some gems on recent albums. One of the biggest touring acts still to this day, and not a nostalgia fest despite what uninformed critics say who can't seem to get away from the 80s, hair and the fact that they were poster boys in their youth.

The restaurant idea is great. People with no cash can come in and earn a meal. That is a very satisfying feeling; being treated like a contributing member of society instead of a dead beat. I wonder; if you came in and peeled a ton of vegetables or washed a floor THEN paid for your meal, could you turn that certificate over to someone on disability who can't work to earn the meal?

great idea, @SandraNelson about working to help someone who can't do the work (smile) .... in PDX when I lived there in the 80's there was a cafe in Old Town (transients, etc.) where they sold meal tickets to anyone who wanted to hand them out to those who were panhandling asking for money for food. The tickets could be traded for a meal. Sisters of the Road provided great meals for anyone who stopped in at reasonable prices. I don't know if they are still in business but if they aren't it's a shame ... (feel free to steal this idea for your city) I like what the couple are doing with the restaurants and now the farm ... also have a garden out front of their restaurant! more than cool! .... I'm a firm believer that cities should have food gardens ... building should be built with gardens and parks on their roofs ... (smile)

I was talking to my mum after we came from their concert (I still don't believe that I saw this LEGENDARY band live with my mum who always was their huge fan, from almost beginning). Who plays rock now? Unfortenatly no one. World is filled with shitty pop stars and their hopeless music. That's the reason why I think that I was born in wrong generarion. I'm from 2000 and I would give a lot to be able to see how music grew in 80s and 90s. It was GOLDEN time. Nowdays there's no real music in my opinion. Im a genZ and I say this from the bottom of my heart that 80's 90's have the best music. Lucky are the ones who grew up in that era. Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams, Phil Collins, Police, Elton John, Guns N roses etc etc. All deserve Hall of Fame. I don't say that I don't like today's music I just don't feel connected to it. They made music which feel more connected , more dramatic, the way it should be.
