COME ON GUITARISTS! You can do it! I predict nobody's gonna nail it (I sure haven't), but SOMEBODY is gonna fumble their way through it in a beautiful way. I'll probably cry.

Jon Gomm I think you deffinately nailed it. Unless if there's a skill level above ninja that your not telling us about.

Jon Gomm it sounds beautifully technical, much like attempted flight. This hits me right in my soul!! I was admittedly not very excited about the last few songs you released, but this changes everything! I'm totally amazed!!! Thank you so much for all the time and work you put in, tell Wilma I say hi. 😊 Much love and respect.

Here's my version after around 6/7 hours of practice(spanning 2 days). I posted it on your site and I figured I'd post it here aswell! The solo was by far the hardest because of my long fingernails. Hope you enoy it! Cheers from Poland Here's the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q2XcYpiLfaaFi7c

Jon Gomm thank you. Just got being an amazing guitarist and also reaching out to your fans and showing your just l8ke the rest of us. I'm touched by this opportunity, not because I think I'm going to climb to the top over night and win this contest, but just because you have it to us. I will surely give this a go, merely because the information I will gain by trying is worth a lifetime. However, if some major power did allow me to ingest such a monster of a song, I would greatly value your pickup system more than I can imagine. Much love from Oregon, USA!!!

The great Jon Gomm!!!! I remember the time when you go to my hometown (Feira de Santana-BA) and I saw you playing in front of me! What a day, man! What a day! Is still worth the invitation I made you to have lunch at my parents house there in Bahia. God continue bless you!!!
@FelipediOliveira7 жыл бұрын
Man, if you only listen to the audio, you think there are 3 guitar players and 1 percussionist, and then you watch this. I think he creates acoustic songs only for himself to perform. Shit, dude, I don't have four arms! That's beautiful!!!!!
@bennemann4 жыл бұрын
If you watch carefully there are times when percussion is going on while his hands are NOT doing that percussion (such as 2:52). This shows that he's recorded multiple tracks and only filmed one of them, and is not being very honest about it. 2023 edit: I no longer endorse this comment.

What sets John Gomm apart from the rest of the other artists is basically the capability of expressing his feelings in such a deep way! I'd like to say it comes to down to his acoustic guitar technique only, but he's able use that to reach an assortment of deep feelings. I'm not even able to explain and sound legit, he's just unbelievable though. He is nature expressing itself and that's mind-blowing!!!
@DobrieNIN7 жыл бұрын
he is a very talented, expressive artist, but its not fair to imply that there arent plenty of others that do tthe same in their own way
@FelipediOliveira7 жыл бұрын
DobrieNIN I think i didn't get across properly, there are a plenty of other artists really amazing out there, one of them is John Frusciante (former RHCP's guitarist) he's a very talented and sensitive guy. What i wanted to say was just that his talent and mind are beyond the average artists. There are an assortment of great artists out there, though. Thanks for pointing this out, man!

@@quenteqmampff8204 Yes, isn't it amazing the difference you see in attitude in the comment sections in videos like this and SOME videos on YT? When I go really good science sites, except for the occasional troll, the same is true, intelligent people discussing interesting subjects without rancor. Gotta admit though (probably shouldn't), I do sometimes go to the "flat Earth" or "Moon Hoax" type videos just to troll the crap out of idiots, there is some humor in that, even if I know I probably shouldn't be doing it. I start out nice, trying to honestly educate, but when they almost invariably get nasty, the gloves come off. ;-)

You’ve really helped me become a lot better at feeling the music Jon. I used to overcomplicate by merely using the strings but now I’m using pinch/slap/tap harmonics and the body as a rhythm machine, the necessary breaks for a busy mind.. not even learning bass has shown me the beauty of silence the way you have.. I love you, thank you ☺️

Ok Jon, challenge accepted! I have been working on this for a couple of hours and can do some of the parts but I admit I am not yet able to play them together with left and right hand coordination. I don’t do a lot of copying other people’s songs but this one is a masterclass in skill building, just picking out the pieces and putting it all together. I don’t expect to be in the first batch to post it, but will put it together eventually. It is such a sweet song and truly catchy melody that it is easy to miss how complicated the guitar work is. Thank you so much for putting it out in audio and video.
