The lyrics of Defying Gravity literally had “too late to go back to sleep”. The story is as woke as can be and has always been from the start, and that's what makes it so good and impactful :)

Do you know the show at all? Elphaba was woke. And people have been waking up to many things for many years prior to the show. Opening our eyes to injustice, discrimination , and the truths of the world is not a new thing
