Saguto is an unrecognized genius as an instructor. His tips have added 20 yards and accuracy to my golf shots. Nobody is any better at providing guidance that defies current flawed instruction. One day his stature will rival Harmon or Ledbetter. My back no longer gets sore. To bad I didn’t get this instruction years earlier. Simply put defiant genius!

Sadly, Dick, many misconstrued and/or misguided teachings of "conventional" instruction - such as turning the shoulders level while independently lifting the club, shifting into and torquing against a firm trail side, actively rolling the hands through impact, etc. - have relegated generations of golfers to the vast abyss of chronic frustration (and chronic back/knee/hip pain as well). I’m doing my best here to clear these up one by one and put an end to this madness. I'm very glad to learn of your pain-free and dramatic improvement!! 💪💪 This powerful, consistent, body-friendly swing system is designed to provide a lifetime of blissful ball striking up to and including at the game's most elite levels. Thanks so much for your support in sharing your success with it and keep up the great work!! Tom PS: If you've not already joined, have you considered enrolling in the online school and taking your learning - and your game - to the next level? This is an honest opinion, I do not have any affiliation with Saguto nor am I a bot. If this program doesn't change your game for the better, then you are already a tour pro. The swing concepts learned through TS are the only fundamentals that matter. How many lessons have you gone to where the teacher wasn't quite sure how to fix your swing? It's because the teacher has no real foundational functionality to their understanding of a consistent swing. Saguto Golf provides the foundation for which we have all been searching. It's that simple.

@J G - I am truly humbled by your very kind words regarding my instruction and the swing method that I embrace. This body-friendly, powerful, consistent, low-maintenance Stack and Tilt swing system is designed to provide a lifetime of enjoyment for all golfers, and since it is rooted in physics, geometry, and human physiology it does not discriminate by age or ability - from kids to seniors and everything in between, and inclusive of the best players in the world. I give all credit where it is due - to Andy Plummer and Mike Bennett for analyzing and interpreting the science, and to those who preceded them with their empirical observations of the game's best ball strikers and all their subsequent chalkboard number-crunching . I simply do my best to take what they have built and convey it in my own simplified teaching style. Thank you again - I sincerely appreciate your support!! Tom

I sincerely appreciate that, Dave! We don't need a long swing to bomb it. Finau is another great example of this fact. Just get the physics and geometry of the swing working for you and you'll marvel at the seemingly effortless speed and power you'll be able to generate. By the way, you may be interested to know that a significant percentage of my online school members are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, arthritis, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. It all begins with a proper setup which provides for a free-flowing motion. Upon that good foundation a repeatable swing which produces consistently crispy impact can be built. Have you considered the comprehensive, structured, sequential learning platform of the online school? Tom, I am so glad to have found your instructional videos. I am 55 and I have just started to learn to play golf, so I had been watching several different instructors on KZbin and was very inconsistent, because most of the instruction out there shows some form of shifting weight to the back foot and then moving back through the ball and I just wasn’t getting consistent contact. But then I found Saguto golf, and everything you teach makes perfect sense, so I started following your instructions, and now I am getting consistent contact every time, which has helped tremendously. Thank you very much for the way you teach, and I hope to run into you one day on a golf course, so I can thank you personally.

Thanks to stack and tilt, at 57 I had my best ever season last year. 2 holes in 1 - previously 0 in 40 years. 7 handicap - previous best 9. Best round 2 under, previous best 1 under. More importantly, NO back pain for the first time since 1998! Although yoga played a part in this, in golf I am no longer using spine compression as a power source thanks to this site. I just let my hips move as far as my body allows, which is a long way thanks to yoga. So despite losing spine compression as a power source, I hit the ball further now because my body knows it can hit as hard as it wants and not have back pain. Great!

Awesome sauce, Chris!! I appreciate you sharing your body-friendly swing, power, and scoring improvements, and congratulations on your fabulous season and accomplishments last year!! Yes indeed, when we learn to harness the physics and geometry of the golf swing in a way that compliments our human physiology - which is what the Stack and Tilt system does for us - the results in terms of consistently crispy ball striking, a repeatable shot shape, and seemingly effortless distance do tend to speak quite well for themselves. Thanks again for your comment and support, keep up the fantastic work, and keep have fun playing this great game!! Tom

1) I'm 65 years old 2) I've been trying to master Saguto's technique for only a couple of months (if that) 3) I play once a week and get very little range time (I have bad elbows and a touchy lower back, I cannot pound balls all day) 4) I am probably a lot more like you, than you are like Saguto, so here's what I've learned in about 2 months 5) I am 5'9" and 185 lbs (an old fat man with no muscles to speak of) Am I singing Saguto's praises? Well...he's earned it. Tom has improved my game so much. I've paid for lessons here at home a few times over the years, and not only did they not really help me, they never even spotted my moving off the ball, my move back towards the ball where I would drop down, go down after the ball - way too much movement going on, and they never called me on it (I guess because when I would make good contact, the ball goes pretty good, I do hit it pretty far). These are the top rated instructors here where I live...they did not help me. Video recordings, fancy line drawing software...no help. I cannot make the aggressive move Saguto does (from the top). If I do I lose consistency. However, as I said I've only been at this for a couple of months. But...I can hit an 8 iron 140 with practically no effort at all (little effort equals consistent contact for me). I can hit that 8 iron 150 pretty easily, but by over-clubbing and swinging easy, I am hitting way more greens. My playing partners are getting frustrated - LOL. If I don't have any real blow-up holes I'm in the 70's - period. Prior to this change, say for the last 10 years or so, I shot in the 70's probably 4 or 5 times a year. Saguto's video on pitching/chipping, with more or less this same technique, is a must. I don't even need a practice swing it's so reliable. Learn these 4 or 5 things, and frustrate your playing partners too. I do keep my right arm tucked in, but for me it's more about keeping the left arm straight and tilting my left shoulder to point at the ball at the top of the back swing (things Saguto talks about in various videos, and instant results for me). When I really tried to keep the right elbow glued, I sometimes kind of spun out and hit wicked smother hooks 30 yards left (never anything good 30 yards left). I know that's not the swing being taught here, but for me focusing too much on the right elbow isn't necessary, it stays in place pretty much by itself. In other words, your results may vary, don't give up. You must swing body, arms and all from the top, arm swinging from the top will not work, even with this swing technique. Saguto pauses really well at the top, and then everything comes down for contact together. No arm swinging! You do not have to make the aggressive move Tom makes, he is really good at this, and you probably aren't. Stop turning off the ball, keep your weight on the front foot, or at least more of your weight on the front foot, keeping your body fairly quiet will put the ball at the bottom of your swing (left arm straight, left shoulder tilts towards the ball!). You have to quit trying to hit the ball, quit trying to be careful, quit swinging with fear. The Saguto swing will hit the ball for you! You will have a much more relaxed pass at the ball. If you do chunk a little, you can stand a little taller perhaps, but you may have swayed or gone down after it too much (don't try to go down and hit it, your left shoulder/left arm will be the top of a pendulum, just let that pendulum work, relax your hands, which are at the bottom of the pendulum). I see my own playing partners struggle with their swings, talking about this with the knee and that with the wrist. The first move from the top, blah, blah, blah. I don't give advice, I just tell them this there's this Tom Saguto guy, and what I've started doing is this...From there it's up to them isn't it? These are guys that can play, these are guys that can shoot in the 70's when they're "on." But I'm "on" a lot more often than they are now. We played in a scramble yesterday and we used my iron shots and my short game shots about 85% of the time. Used plenty of my drives too, but my iron game is just flat out better then theirs at this point. Two months ago, that was not the case. Thanks Tom, Work in progress...

I second my personal journey trying to fix my swing using TS's instructions on youtube. These are essentially the only things that matter in the golf swing and TS nails it to the point with simplicity and humor. One personal comment I want to make when I was trying to change my swing to a more rounded motion, you actually need to feel a lot more weirdness than you think when you swing the club around your body for the first time. It felt so weird but on video, the swing still looked awful similar to my old swing. I wasn't even sure whether I could hit the ball from the feeling of position I was in...but after the downswing, it was one of the purest shot I've ever hit lol. That's when I truly understood the plethora of 'feel vs real' videos about golf :) Thank you Tom!

I begin my driver and low irons with my weight forward but some how shift it back so my left toe rises on my finish. What am I doing wrong if I start with so much weight forward..why am I shifting weight the wrong way? When I hold weight forward, I hit it awesomely as you predicted.

Hey Tom. I've been watching your videos for probably 3 years now. I can't play as much as I would like because of a bunch of orthopedic issues. Mainly low back. I'm 61, overweight and about as flexible as a cinder block. I've watched nearly every one of your videos over the last 3 years and try to stick with the all of the keys you describe in this video as much as my body will let me. Literally subscribed to you after the first tip. I just took an expensive golf lesson to work on getting more compression and after an hour of chunking after the instructor changed my swing, I went back to this very swing thought that I wish the instructor would have mentioned. Starting with weight loaded in the lead leg is like a cheat code. Starting the weight there and keeping it there through the swing makes it impossible to chunk

Hey Tom ol’ pal! Good to see ya on my feed again. One thing about Rahm is he was born with a club foot and has that sweet short little backswing, for what it’s worth. Yess I have been paying extra attention to weight distribution on my lead foot and back and forth throughout the swing, same principle applies to my short chips around the green, weight on my left foot, ball of my right foot towards the back of the stance
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf Жыл бұрын
I hope the weight-forward component is performing well for you. This system certainly allows for some transfer of pressure into the trail side during the takeaway. After all, we are moving the mass of the arms and club backwards during that initial stage of the swing. Some like to sense the dynamic pressure shifts; others prefer the feel of a gradual increasing of weight load into the lead leg from the start. However, in either scenario the key here is that we do not allow our head - and thereby our swing center and low point - to drift back at any point. TS

Tom, I recently applied your advice about placing more weight on my left side, pointing my left shoulder down, not cupping my left wrist and staying centered over the ball. After a few practice swings to get the feel of those swing changes I put my first ball down and when I felt that exhilarating crispy feel and seeing the resulting beautiful ball flight I was thrilled. I hit another seventy shots. I had four miss hits, but the rest were as crispy as the first one. I have never experienced hitting balls as consistently crispy as I am now. I can’t thank you enough for your common sense teaching advice. I live in the north east and I can’t wait for golf season to get here so I can hit crispy shots and have my playing partners seeing me hit more greens in regulation while dramatically dropping my scores.

I'm glad to know that this lesson resonated well with you! The key here is get to - but not go beyond - your body's natural stopping point in the backswing where the tilting, turning, and extending motions are complete, the lead arm has crossed the chest 45 degrees, and the wrists are properly set (preferably with a flat or slightly bowed lead wrist). This is the point where if we were to try to go any further any or all of the following will occur: 1) the lead arm will bend and/or lift 2) the wrists will break down 3) the lead knee will kick inward towards the trail side 4) the lead shoulder will level out and lose its orientation towards the ball 5) weight will shift into the trail side and bring the low point back with it, resulting in inconsistent contact and unpredictable ball flight. 6) you'll "chicken wing" and/or flip through impact 7) pain, discomfort, and/or possible injury We don't need to try to get to "parallel" with this swing, and fighting your body in an attempt to do so will result in some combination of the above issues. If you execute this swing properly you will have created width and plenty of distance for that club to travel by taking it in deep, and that will enable you to harness the tremendous power source known as "angular momentum". By the way, here's a link to my FREE mini-course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker” in case you’re interested in learning some key aspects of the swing system I teach in a more structured manner: go.saguto.golf/ Tom

You’re so accurate w Rahm’s swing Tom. A lot of my friends always say “dude you need to lengthen your backswing, its so short”. But i’m significantly tighter than them w dispersion because i minimise unnecessary movement w the take back, all I have to do is always set my correct wrist position at the top to keep the face closed (which is fairly automatic now for me as its pretty much become a feel thing), then just drop the club and turn my body at the same time. It’s always straight, and so easy. Meanwhile my pals are all over the left and right side of fairway edges

I'm very glad to know that this lesson resonated well with you, Timothy! No worries on the lesson, as at least for the time being I have phased out general in-person instruction so I can further dedicate my efforts in support of the online school. I will, however, continue the V1 Swing Video Analysis lessons as they are instrumental to the progress of my school's members, and these can be done for anyone from anywhere across the globe. I look forward to seeing you in the online school!! Thanks, Tom PS: Here's some preliminary advice to help you get off to a good start: 1) Regardless of a member's skill level, this swing necessitates a complete reboot for someone transitioning from a shift & lift swing (which is typically the case), and therefore it is imperative that one take sufficient time to ensure that the fundamental components are mastered. From the ground up there is nothing superfluous in the Stack & Tilt swing - in other words, everything with a purpose, and a purpose for everything. (For example, contrary to shift & lift where you may be taught to keep your trail foot perpendicular to the target line as a means of "creating resistance" in your trail side, in S&T we flare both feet out 10-20 degrees in order to facilitate a free flowing, inclined hip and shoulder turn.) I cannot emphasize this enough, as frustrations predominantly occur when students jump ahead in the curriculum without properly dedicating themselves to the foundational base upon which our consistently repeatable, powerful, low maintenance swing must be built. Chapter 1 of the Golf Swing Simplified program (GSS) and Part I of Get Out & Go Play (GOGP) both address this. 2a) GSS: One of the many great things about this swing is that you can achieve solid ball striking even at the most basic levels. This is why I oftentimes will suggest that students park themselves on Chapter 2 of the GSS course for an extended period of time after locking down Chapter 1's foundational elements. Chapter 2 reinforces the body motions and the weight-forward component, and it culminates with what I call "The Best Golf Swing Practice Drill of All Time". Work yourself sequentially and gradually through the chapter, and then commit yourself to that drill in Lesson 2.8. Learn it. Practice it. Master it. You can even use this partially abbreviated swing on the course and play quite well with it as it will provide plenty of distance. (It actually is the full swing minus just a couple of power accumulators.) Once you've got that down, you will be well prepared to move forward in the curriculum and well on your way towards taking ownership of YOUR swing! 2b) GOGP: This quick-start program is exactly as it sounds - it is designed to fast-track you out onto the course so you can have fun - and success - playing as you learn! Should you choose this path, everything in #1 above still applies, and as implied above in 2a you will still want to work through it sequentially and gradually, mastering each lesson before moving ahead to the next one. In this program, Drill #5 - The Flying Wedge is the one you'll want to park yourself on and nail down. 3) Also, as you progress always keep in mind the V1 Swing Video Analysis, an effective and inexpensive service that I highly recommend to everyone in the school. I liken it to bringing your swing into the shop for a tune-up or minor repair. Scheduling one on a quarterly basis for preventive maintenance will do wonders for keeping things humming along nicely, and it's also a great tool for pinpointing and resolving any issues that arise. The process involves downloading the free V1 app and then submitting two videos to me through the app - one down-the-line (captured from your stance line, not the target line) and the other face-on. You'll find more information about the V1 Analysis on this page of the Saguto.Golf site: saguto.golf/p/lessons I cannot overstate the value of the V1 Analyses as a supplement to what you are learning in the school, especially if you wish to fast-track the process. 4) Finally, please migrate over to the SagutoGolf Community Forum - which is included in your online school enrollment - and begin engaging with your fellow members. It only takes a minute or two to enroll - just go to your “My Courses” screen and you’ll see a link to get started. Once signed in you’ll be able to access and participate in the great dialogue that we are having on a variety of topics. You can start discussions, contribute to existing threads, post specific swing questions, make some new friends, and just share in the common bond of golfers from around the world seeking to improve their games and help others to do the same. I really think you’ll enjoy it! I look forward to assisting you through the school’s structured lessons and drills towards building a consistent, low maintenance, powerful, body-friendly swing that will bring your enjoyment of this great game to a new level!

Personally had my best shot so far, par 3 170 yards. 7 iron to the front of the green. Thank you! The way you explain things is so simple but yet so effective.

Tom, I enjoy your vids and I am pleasantly surprised that I actually learn things I can apply to my swing. Two tips, that I should have known, that have truly changed my game: left shoulder angled down to the ball during backswing and weight somewhat on the lead leg. Just never clicked until now. I started the Stack and Tilt last fall. My contact and aim is phenominal. I have tweeked it a little and for the first time in my long playing career have achieved a consistant repeatable swing (am 67). Tom, your take on hitting the woods as it relates (or not) to stack and tilt. I also went to jumbo grips (yours look bigger too) for quieter hands and better control, seems counterintuitive I know but works for me. Good content. Thanks.

I appreciate the shoutout for this fantastic swing system, Tom, and I'm thrilled to learn of your improvement through it!! Yes - I’m using JumboMax Ultralite grips in extra-large. I wanted to give them a try for a few reasons, including the fact that DeChambeau uses them and we share similar swing philosophies. Since then, I haven't looked back. These grips keep my hands much quieter - which I personally prefer. Also, since my fingers don't wrap all the way around and dig into my palms, I'm not triggering any forearm tension or activating arms muscles that may otherwise have a tendency to take control of the swing. With regard to the driver/wood, it’s essentially the same swing with every club; just some minor setup differences and naturally occurring shaft plane changes as we graduate up in club length from short irons to woods. To demonstrate, you'll find towards the end of this episode some driving range footage of me hitting a 7 iron, 3 wood, and driver: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWHbpJaDrrNmrJo Beyond that, if you search the word "drive" on this channel you'll see some related content. Thanks again for your comment and keep up the great work! Tom

Dude you're amazing. Just absolutely amazing. It's like I have two instructors and they are saying the same thing. My instructor here at home and saying keep that trail arm/elbow glued to your rib cage. Almost if you were going to rip yourself apart if they become separated and it's amazing the little tweaks that are building my golf swing. I am also one of those golfers that is naturally left handed but play golf right and this was a struggle. It's like my swing was just soggy cereal. Now I'm hearing that "crack" off the golf ball. Crisp, fresh, and refreshing. Yes I still have miss hits, but I go back to focusing on keeping that arm tucked tight to my side and it just works. The fact that you said that feeling when you hit a great shot and then want to do that again is so me. I've hit balls in my basement and before I knew it, it was 1:00 AM!

i have been working on a couple of things over the winter. what i have come up with is this. at address, weight left, right knee locked in a straight position. at the top of the swing left shoulder, left knee pointed down at the ball. in order to point the left knee at the ball the left heel has to come up off the ground which in turn allows my hips to turn. at the top of swing i feel like i am leaning left into the shot, then i simply let my weight fall to the left and turn through the shot. added at least 10 yards to each of my irons and 20 yards to my driver. thank you for the insights into the swing

Play golf today for the first time since November. I’ve been practicing in my garage all winter and I think it’s paid off. I have really had good success Tom Seguto’s golf swing. I tried the vertical line swing that you may have heard of that. On the front nine I shot 41. I went back to the Saguoto swing and shot a 40 on the back nine. However, I did have a couple two or three do overs since it’s not March 15 yet. Lol so it was probably more like 84or85. I think I’m still gonna keep with this swing for the rest of the golfing season. Thanks a lot for all your videos.

@@SagutoGolf Thanks Tom. I was enrolled in the online school but I tried to log in the other day and I guess I’ll let my subscription lapse. Maybe I will go through it again. I was about 80% through and watched some of the videos over and over and did the drills etc. etc. i’ve tried a couple different things on my swing like gravity golf, the vertical line, swing, rotary, swing, and on and on. I just keep coming back to the stack and tilt method which I was actually using about 15 years ago. I’m not sure why I quit. But my ball striking is definitely improved. Perhaps I will sign up again. There’s so much information you can’t remember at all so that’s why I kept going back to it. I pay closer attention to the problems that I have in my swing. My biggest thing is changing my spine angle. But it definitely feels different when I had a good shot so I try to emulate that feeling. Thanks for your info dude. Btw… I was telling my sister about my round and she said “well it’s all downhill from here.” Lol. For some reason I always play pretty well the first time after not playing for a while. And then the bad habits start creeping in. This year is going to be different. I play with some guys that are very good golfers and that really helps. My goal is to be their ass this year. They’re about 40 to 50 yards longer than I am off the tee so I really concentrate on my approach shots when I play with them. This year I’m concentrating on driving distance because I have a really short backswing so I am working on lengthening that just a little bit more. John Rahm is one of my favorite golfers so I try to emulate him. I’ll let you know how that goes.
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf Жыл бұрын
@Rich Olsen - Yes - let's make your sister eat her words LOL! Rahm and Finau are just a couple of examples who confirm that you don't need a long backswing to bomb it. If the physics and geometry of your motion are correct, then you'll be tapping the tremendous power source known as "angular momentum" and you'll see the ball traveling surprisingly far with the seemingly minimal of effort exerted. With regard to the school, it is structured in such a way that a golfer will continue to benefit from an ongoing membership even if they've worked their way through the entire swing course. The diagnostic, repair, and maintenance tools are always available when the occasional hiccups occur (as they invariably do), and the advanced level courses on shot shaping and power/distance keep even seasoned, low-handicap, competitive players interested and engaged. Beyond that, I have some further enhancements coming out in the near future that will take things up to a whole new level. I hope to see you back!! TS

I sincerely appreciate your kind words, Kyle, and I am very glad to know that you are benefiting from my instruction content and enjoying my teaching style!! The way I see it, we can either simply put the already existing natural laws to work and thereby build a powerful, body-friendly, repeatable, low-maintenance motion, or we can twist, morph, torque, contrive, and otherwise mess with the principles of physics and geometry in an effort to better suit some ill-conceived whims, all the while recognizing that at the point of impact those pre-existing laws are going to be the only things that matter to the ball! Tom, I have only followed you for a short time, but I have found your weight forward approach has made me much more consistent in hitting creating a divot AFTER hitting the ball. Although I was using a version of this with my irons and getting great results, I was moving far too much with my woods. Even though I would occasionally get a fabulous drive out of my old approach, two out of three were not going where I wanted them to go. Am still struggling with applying this weight forward approach to my woods, I am seeing much more consistency. Thanks so much for how you make hitting the ball far simpler (and more effective). You are doing a great job of presenting this in an understandable and applicable way. Thanks!

Hi David, I appreciate your kind words and I'm very glad to know that this lesson - and my instruction in general - is resonating well with you! To your point, the key here is get to - but not go beyond - your body's natural stopping point in the backswing where the tilting, turning, and extending motions are complete, the lead arm has crossed the chest 45 degrees, and the wrists are properly set (preferably with a flat or slightly bowed lead wrist). Thanks again and keep up the great work!! Tom PS: By the way, since you're liking my channel's content, I'm quite certain you will really enjoy and benefit from the comprehensive, structured learning platform for all the finer aspects of the swing (and the game in general) in my online school. I have to agree, this really is all you need imo. I was recently struggling with my clubs, especially driver, hitting low hooks and over draws. I tried everything from grip to ball position and couldn't figure it out. It was getting to the point where i had so many swing thoughts when I played I couldn't focus and have fun. Then I remembered one of your videos where you were talking about the wall and it hit me, I was swaying forward with my upper body instead of staying centered. That was it, just staying centered and all my power came back. Now I only think of a few things, 1) Keep my left ear where it is (centered), 2) Right bicep curl to a dinner plate (bow, glued), 3) Throw the club at the target (release). I think I like your throwing of the basketball better though.

Absolutely recommend every golfer apply these easy to learn techniques. I’m a baseball player and I needed an easy swing to learn that was consistent and not technical. Went from shooting mid nineties to low eighties with one touch of 79. I'm glad you enjoyed it, Thomas! Rory can get away with that because he exceptionally gifted and hits like a gazillion balls to keep things dialed in. However, he also does a great job of keeping his head steady and he's back into his front side at the transition point, telling us that there was no need for - or benefit to - moving off the ball in the first place (aside from personal preference), and plenty of the top players in the world offer us indisputable proof of this. Cheers! Tom

Thanks! And yes - "Do nothing" is really one of my favorite lesson, Eric!... 😎 I call it "giving up control to gain control." If we can learn to entrust our swing to the far more powerful big muscles instead of trying to micromanage it with the hands and arms, we are bound to experience significant improvements in distance, accuracy, and consistency. Then we can get out on the course with a target-focused mindset and truly enjoy the game of golf as opposed to being bogged down with mechanical thoughts and trudging through a hapless round of "golf swing". I've enjoyed your videos for a while but only recently have started to go all in with the concepts. Mainly focused on turning over the left side and then keeping the weight there throughout the swing. That was from a somewhat traditional setup though so IMO I'm still adding a variable to an extent because I'm centered, then turning the weight forward and trying to keep it there. I've liked the results but am going to start now and work all winter on the weight starting forward and then keeping with the same turning swing thought. I think starting there should in theory help since I've bought in to all of the conceptual aspects of this type of swing. Probably going to fully join the site soon as well. Videos are great though.
@SagutoGolf
@SagutoGolf 11 ай бұрын
I'm very glad to know that you are enjoying my content and benefiting from the instruction, Cory! With regard to your weight-forward variable, this may help: In the swing system I teach we start with our weight forward (generally 55/45 for the short and mid irons, 60/40 for the longer clubs). We achieve this by addressing the ball "stacked", shoulders over hips over knees with our weight balanced 50/50. We then simply bump our hips 1" towards the target while keeping everything else in place. That presets a little more weight forward while retaining the stacked relationship. During the swing we gradually add more forward weight load into the transition (70/30), 80/20 halfway down, 90/10 impact, and 95/5 finish. The upper torso/head - and thus the swing center - remains in place during the increasing forward weight load in the downswing. There's no "weight shift"; instead, it's just a gradually increasing load onto the lead side. And the result is a centered, low-maintenance, body-friendly, consistent, and tremendously powerful swing. The school is absolutely going to give you the level of detail you seek, and it will put you on the fast track towards properly learning and mastering this swing system in a step-by-step, position-by-position manner from setup to finish. I look forward to seeing you there soon! Tom

I absolutely LOVE that people say S&T “ruined” Baddeley’s career. What about when he was leading the U.S. Open in 2007 @ Oakmont, after 3 rounds, by two strokes? He finished better than 25 different major winners that week. Yep. He shot 80 on Sunday to lose…know how many other rounds were over 80 that week? About 100. He played the best golf of his professional career under the S&T banner. I am tickled that it is coming back with a vengeance. All in the name of science and simplicity! Hard to argue, especially when you look at components of SO many tour pros who have many S&T moves. Charles Howell III, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Harold Varner III, Justin Rose, the list goes on! Any other golf instruction you can think of that is steeped in scientific method, that can be reduced down to 10 words, for instant improvement? I can’t. Rock on Tom Saguto. Rock on S&T!

You absolutely nailed it better than I could ever say, Michael!! Yes - the list goes on and on well beyond the few that you mentioned. And how about Matty Fitz's performance at the RBC this past weekend?? 💪💪 So despite the ridiculous "stigma" attached to S&T by those who either don't understand it or who are otherwise inconvenienced by truth, the indisputable laws of physics and geometry cannot be held back, regardless of whether or not the "forbidden label" is attached to any particular elite player's swing. Thanks for sharing your astute observations!! Tom
