Jonathan Frakes on Roswell drama & missing Katee Sackhoff's audition

Used to love Roswell high back in the day and got a massive laugh from Jonathan Frakes guest appearance as himself on an episode. Shows he has a great sense of humour. Also TNG is peak Star Trek and Riker was the best at sitting down 😂

Funny that Mr Frakes mentions William Sadler and Colin Hanks by name, those two have each been busier since more then the rest of the cast combined. Sadler is always brilliant on screen.

Nick Weschler has some work, Majandra Delfino went the music route, she’s a great singer, Shiri Appleby works, the dude who played Max? No idea. Katherine Heigel? She killed her own career.

Obviously it sounds like a different situation than TNG but part of me chuckes that they asked him to talk to the cast about behavior 😂 I can see the conversation now - Hey John, can you go talk to the cast? Sure...just as soon as I finish this song. Na na na na na na na

I remember liking Roswell back in the day, but can't remember any details or memorable storylines from it now. And I'm guessing it does not hold up very well. Lol

I rewatched the original Roswell (along with “Dead Zone”-great and some other older shows eg B5) over the last few years and for me (not a severe critic) Roswell and others held up.

I don't often type that one actress might be better than an other without seeing her in the role, but I Do think that you, Katee, might have played Isabel better than Katherine. Your acting is more emotive which would have bounced off better to Jason Behr's portrayal of Max (Isabel's alien brother). Katherine was fine overall, but at times her acting was "stilted." As an aside, I found this podcast via Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum. I haven't gotten to watch many of the interviews on this channel yet, but I will get to them. Thanks for the upload!

2nd season suck...it could have been great. You don't change the concept from teen angst to sci-fi just because you can. Some performances were very good, a couple were just phoned in. Too bad.

They didn't change the concept. It was a sci-fi teen drama from the pilot, that never changed. They just introduced really poor characters and terrible storylines and couldn't get out of that. Then they lost characters(Colin Hanks in particular). Season 3 is so bad, even worse than 2.

To be honest, Frakes has never impressed me...overacts too much. I found him annoying in STNG, and the fact that he likes to host incredibly stupid garbage shows about things that aren't real (presented as at least possibly real, nevertheless)...what's the point of a show about Roswell? If it tells the truth, it's deadly boring, so that leaves lies. Says something negative about a director who helps push the UFO narrative over reality. Yeah, you can make money off the crap, but it's dishonest money. I thoroughly despise any money-grubbing show that doesn't make it clear that UFOs are not aliens, but a mix of natural phenomena and human activity. I believed in this nonsense as a kid, but I'd have thought any intelligent adult would have gotten over it....Frakes, what's wrong with you, son? Katee, I subbed to this channel because I like your acting--your bubbly personality comes through, though the only role I can name is on Longmire...which I started to watch again after finding the video that led me to subbing. I know I've seen other things, they just didn't make the same impression...apparently. I ought to look the other stuff up...I'm sure there's something I'd like to see again.
