The mics sound great Jonathan! (as does your playing of course!) Glad to hear you got an artist discount.

You make the chords look and sound so easy and relaxed....that must be the magic of dedication and hard work. I enjoy your guitar playing.

In the last 8 years I've been listening at your channel, that L-5 is still the sweetest guitar of the bunch, it is so lovely

The mic certainly shows how powerful those early L5's are. I always enjoy the subtlety of your playing and how you ride the edge of these monster archtops. This mic really lets that come through. Almost like a tube amp with the volume just before it breaks up, and you're just playing up to that peak. Very nice.

Jonathan, if I could play guitar as well as you, I would never leave my house. I like that Gibson very much. Greetings from Italy.

Au contraire, I would never be in my house, I would be out in the public square sharing my gifts with the world. He makes it look so easy, but I know better! I own two Gibson guitars. I should write a letter of apology to the company! 🤣

It's really nice to find you taking the tune at this tempo. Your beautiful coda reminds me of a Satchmo cadenza.

You know, I was actually thinking about Marie Bryant in "Jammin' the Blues", at least to start. But reminding somebody of Louis Armstrong is about the best thing a guitar player could ever achieve in jazz. THANKS!

@@campusfive You're most welcome -- you continue to surpass yourself, Jonathan. ... Oh, yeah -- duh! I can hear Marie's line -- should have caught that. She probably got it from Louis!

Every piece that I’ve heard and seen Jonathan play just blows my mind. Amazingly clean and fluid. How about playing live somewhere in LA?

Beautiful playing as always, Johnathan! However please check the connections of the mics to the board or whatever they're being routed into, there's a line buzz in the recording that sounds like either a turned off device plugged into the line or a half connected cable.
@campusfive4 ай бұрын
It's a light fixture in the room - LED bulbs and an ancient dimmer switch. I usually notice it and move the mic slightly and I can avoid it.
@PiotrBarcz4 ай бұрын
@@campusfive Ah I see! I have the same issue when I run a fan. I hear the motor contacts switching in the mic lines which is very irritating if i have something in the audio set up plugged into the mains. I believe there's cheap filters you can get for fans and light fixtures alike that will null any buzzing like that.

Pardon my astonishment, but he is playing a lot of this without looking or with his eyes closed. I do that when I play mandolin solos, but not on guitar work like this.
