I appreciate the fact that you are one of the only reviewers that demonstrates how the bag fits underneath the seat. On an aside, I think that many people might find it interesting to do side by side comparison videos of bags of the same volume capacity and features i.e.15l bag vs 15l bag, 20l bag vs 20l bag etc. as some bags of the same size are still bigger than others. Thanks for the good work !

When I saw that you were reviewing a sponsor's product, I thought it odd for this channel, but I am glad I watched the full video. You explained everything very well and didn't waste any time. I have two 20L day packs, which I keep ready to go. Comparing my use to yours was interesting, and I think this video would be useful for anyone planning a trip. Well done. The featured bag looks excellent and would suit my use, though perhaps not my budget.

Love this bag. I use it as a lightweight EDC when home, and, when traveling, I will flat pack empty in a suitcase for use when I get to where I’m going. I do not, however, use it as a primary travel backpack. My flight pack is usually a 24L+ pack by Aer or EVERGOODS.

Never having used a 20L backpack, I just bought the cheapest one I could find - 34 euros online by Skysper - with the thought that I could buy a better one once I knew what I was looking for. I've been using it almost every day for over a year and it still does everything I need. Normally I'm the sort of person who opts for a premium product but I'd struggle to justify this sort of upgrade.

I do love the look of the Bellroy, and I have their sling, but the price of this one is a little on the high side. I have a £20 decathlon bag and it is actually amazing in terms of features - from the pass through to the clamshell opening. It just looks “a bit shite”. Would love a comparison (and that might be a nice answer to those who are saying you’re shillin for the brands)

Great review, good presentation style and I’ll be checking out the other videos. I have to disagree with the overall summary of the bag though as I’ve just not enjoyed my experience with it and ended up replacing it with a Peak Design back pack. Don’t get me wrong, the features on the Bellroy were nice but it was the lack of structure of the bag and the main opening compartment that I just couldn’t get along with. I hated the fact that it wouldn’t stand up in order to access the main compartment as it wasn’t rigid enough, and just kept flopping. I also found it uncomfortable to wear, the position of the pack was too low on my back and struggled to have it higher up on my shoulders due to the straps.

Looks like a great, really useful bag. Would be super interested in seeing comparisons between a bag at say £50, £100 and this one. I’d be surprised but pleased if this one, at over £200 really is quadruple or double the value. I’ve always understood value to be satisfaction minus price so for this to represent any value for me I’d need it to fully satisfy me in ways I don’t believe a backpack could manage.

Managed to get the 26L version in the last $155 sale, for the non luggage strap version, and it’s been honestly great so far. Really wanted the orange color, but wasn’t available, so I got the navy blue one. It’s become my do everything backpack now. Work, gym, overnight and weekend stays occasionally. It’s not perfect of course. The main compartment zipper is still sticky/stiff, especially near the area where to top pocket flops down. It’s odd because the top one is silky smooth. Also the lack of some organization in the side pocket is noticeable. And yea, the price is quite high. Overall I’m very pleased with it.

That's a good point but something I never thought about in use which I guess answers the question - it's not a wide bag so that will help minimise any off-centre force

Great, informative video. Personally, would be a pass from me, however. I couldn’t justify paying north of £200 for a smallish backpack.. many can and will I’m sure though :)
@JonGadget
@JonGadget 4 ай бұрын
you always get better perceived value with a bigger pack because it generally takes the same amount of work to make both and material cost difference is minimal - hence small cost difference for 26L version

@@JonGadget Yeah that’s a very good point. And I guess value depends on each person. Many things I’ve raved about and others have been like “why on earth did you pay that!?”. Thanks again!

yes - it's a very personal choice and I am lucky enough to be able to focus more on what works for me than the cost for that

Nice backpack, but the pricetag is rather hefty. Gonna stick to my 5.11 Rush 24 which has been serving me well for 12 years already. It is super heavy though.

I love your reviews, but the price is too high for a 20l backpack. Consider also that the size doesn't respect the Ryanair policies for under seat backpack (40x20x25 cm)! Maybe a backpack with this size could be one topic for one of your next review. Cheers. P.S. it seems that there is no RFID protection pockets. It is insane for that price!!

색상도 좋고~ 생김새도 맘에 들고, 기능성 주머니등등 하나 사고 싶을정도! 특히 내부에 에어태그 장착이 가능한 숨겨진 주머니는 최고! 사야하나! 👀

I really enjoy your videos Jon but I wish you'd mentioned the price at the beginning so I could save myself 15 minutes. Even with the discount this is ridiculously overpriced
@JonGadget

If you check out the chapters it shows where the price is covered so you can jump straight to that. I find the price is comparable to other great packs - but if you want something cheaper there are lots of options.

Wouldn't your gear be at heightened risk up that top pocket from thieves and pickpockets though? They seem to be quite expert at opening and taking from pockets like this on bags, anything outwardly facing is a risk surely?

I'd want some kind of internal frame like my Osprey daysack has to keep the rucksack off your back and give some ventilation. Packs like this make you incredibly sweaty.
@JonGadget
@JonGadget 4 ай бұрын
I would see that application as for more serious outdoor trekking - for general use frames and straps everywhere don't really do it for me and at 20L and for a pack that weighs just 850g this worked fine for me even in 30 degree heat.
