This is the second of your play through tutorials I have watched, and I can say you are now my go to when I need to learn a new game. Well done and very thorough! I really understand the game. The other one I watched was Ruins of Arnak and it was good enough that I was able to teach my friends. Will definitely look to your videos in the future.

Will you be doing a playthrough of Century: From Sand to Sea the variant of this combined with Spice Road?

I don't have a copy of Spice Road anymore, and Sand to Sea seems pretty similar to Eastern Wonders, so it is very unlikely that this will happen unfortunately.

That's understandable. Its rather odd that the combined version doesn't really add much. Kind of makes me wonder if they really had much of a plan for the whole "Century" thing or if it will end up largely as a marketing gimmick.

I'm still deciding between this and Spice Road as my first one. I think maybe Spice Road would be best at 2p. I could see avoiding running into each other like Ticket to Ride in 2p. But it's helpful to see that the "many small tiles" were quicker and won. I usually pick the bigger point titles in something like Potion Explosion or Ticket To Ride (just comparing to set collection games). Nice job, glad I saved this for a rainy day

I really like your playthrough and showing the various strategies the different players could take. I recently acquired this and am looking forward to playing it. We really like Spice Road and can see that this is similar but different enough to make it interesting.

Whre do you find the starting cubes for each player

Unfortunately I don't really understand your question, and I also don't remember the rules to this particular games since it's been years since the video was made.

In reverse turn order you get to choose out of 4 combinations before the start of the game. So last player gets to choose first between 4Y or 2Y+1R or 2R or 1Y+1G. The next player gets to choose out of what is left, and so on. So in a 4 player game the starting player just has to take what is left. With less players, the remainder just goes back into the pile.

On 4:39 you can chance only 2 red because you have enongh cubes for get points for the port

Maybe I missed it somewhere in the video. But my question is, after a ship moves to a new tile and purchases a trade house... does it still have the option of taking the harvest action? Or if you purchase a trade house is the only option, activating the tile? Because during the video I saw some turns buy a trade house and then do nothing else.

Caleb Gallevo the best way to think about it is you can do either a market tile action OR a harvest action. The Market tile action involves an optional outpost build action and then a trade action as long as there is an outpost present. So if you harvest you can’t build an outpost or make any trades.

Just letting you know, audio is very low. Maxed out computer settings and speakers turned up to be able to hear you. Watching levels, and your video never gets to -30db. Normal speaking voice should consistently be hitting "U" (unity). Your video is good, please just fix your audio levels.

This is strange because the audio level to me is very loud on my system when I max out my speakers and I have never had anyone mention an issue with it being too quiet before. When I am editing I set the levels to hit around -6 on the DB meter in Final Cut Pro because anything more than that starts to get distorted.

Unfortunately I don't think Spice Road will end up getting a playthrough, I no longer have a copy of the game and at this point I am focusing on covering more recent game releases.

at 40:51, I noticed on your last turn that had you used the upgrade action and turned your chili into tea, you should have been able to afford the 13 point tile this turn.

That upgrade action only happens when an outpost is added to the board, and I went back a couple turns and I hadn't added an outpost for quite a while. It's possible I'm not understanding what you mean though.

JonGetsGames ahh that was my mistake. I thought it could be used more frequently. If so you could have upgraded and pursued the 13 point tile. That makes sense, thanks!

At about 5:26 blue made a double move, moving left then down placing a resource next to the tile the red ship was on. Is there a rule that prevented the blue player from making the smarter move of moving down and then left which would mean the resource placed would be two spaces from the red player?

No there wasn't, I think I did it this way simply to showcase the mechanic so people could see how it works.
