Love this...The church was never meant to be a building, but the people. We are the church, the building is just a building. We are to build each other up, encourage one another, help each other grow and to become closer to Jesus. To become more like Him. We need to stop looking at our differences and look to the foundation that brings us together...Jesus. We need to come together in unity and share with others, that is what God intended for the church to be. A place of peace, love and forgiveness, not judgment and fear. This is an amazing video. I just recently read The Shack, which taught me God wants to be the center of your life, not just the first spot on a list. If your life is centered in God, His love overwhelms you and is shown in everything you do. When we give Christ control and place him at the center, we do not need rules or laws because our desire is Him and to please Him. We have created laws and rules to take control and to keep from putting control in God's hands. We are scared, but the fact is through the laws we cannot survive. Only with God can we survive, and only through His beloved Son Jesus, whom died on the cross, can we obtain mercy and enter the gates of Heaven.

I know this is kind of an old video but I just came across it and it hit close to home. I had to leave my church that I've been going to all my life because my family felt as if God wasn't the focus anymore. POWERFUL. What is the church really about? People and relationship. You hit it on the head, when the church began it was not thought of as a place or building but rather the body of Christ. We are the church, my hope and prayer daily is that we as the body of Christ can be the living example God has called us to be to those who do not yet know him.

Where you have informally gathered all of us who have watched this video, and who have commented, it is "church". Honoring our Savior in all situations, wherever we find ourselves, is "church". I agree with everything that you say. our society thinks that church is the place, and not the people. when I say "sorry I can't go with you because I need to go to the church every sunday." and my friends look at me like "what is going on with you, are you crazy? you go to the church because you want?". they think that we are anormal just because we want to stay with other people that wants the same that us, pray and give glory to our only God. church are not the place, but the people! we should think about that. Church directed from Greeks 'ekklesia' which means 'to be called out', and by that in my opinion, we believer are called OUT to the world to be witnesses of Christ and to be the salt and the light of the world. God bless you Jon for The word. So I read some few comments below, and it seems that we all see the church in different ways. Which is good in someway. Look there are two types of Churches that are viewed in life. 1. The church we go to every Sunday to worship God together 2. Our bodies being the temple (church) of God. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20. This scripture makes it clear that even our body is the church of Christ, it's where The Spirit of God dwells. You going to church every Sunday, following the Laws everyday is not what ️for is looking for, that is just a routine as in "everyone is doing it, so I'm doing it. Although they're all good practices and I would encourage u to do that, because what is a student if he/she has no education in what they are doing? But really at the end of the day, your heart is what matters to God. Just as graduation or over accomplishments a student longs for are what matters to him/her at the end of the day, no matter how many friends they have, troubles they face or whether they follow the rules. So the question now is this, you being the Church of Christ, where does your heart lies? God loves you already, but have you opened the door of your heart to let Him in. Incase you are confused, opening your heart to Christ is going beyond or out of your comfort zone to do things for Him. Seeking Him diligently. Proverbs 8:17 Pls this word is not for only you, it's for me too. God bless.☺️

I am a Mormon, and I grew up being a part of many churches. And this follows along with so much of them. Because I am a Mormon, I found a greater truth for myself in this church. Its something that I love, and something that I can first believe, then know with my whole heart. I have nothing against other churches, or people who don't go to church. But, nothing will ever change my mind on what I have found to be true. I have learned, that Christian churches, there are hundreds out there. And all are different. But, we all hold a part in the beginning. Whether what it be, I hope, all of us, will seek out truth we can believe in, then know in our lives through our faiths.

Don't get me wrong I believe that the vast majority of people in the LDS church are great people and people that God will bring to Heaven on judgement day. With saying that, and with thoroughly studying the LDS faith during my faith journey, here are the few fundamentals of Christianity where the LDS church does not align. 1. God was once a fleshly being who earned his divinity, and that we, too, through living a righteous life can earn divinity. I believe this takes away many of the teachings of our God being the one and only TRUE God. Christians are monotheistic, the LDS church is not. 2. The Holy Trinity. For the same reason as above, the LDS Church believes that God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are 3 separate Gods, which takes away from what I believe is the "one true God." (Side note, the belief that God physically impregnated Mary takes the miraculousness of the birth of Christ away and would not fulfill Jeremiah's Prophecy). 3. Joseph Smith founded the LDS Church based on belief that GOD told him ALL CHRISTIAN CHURCHES were corrupt and WRONG and that Christianity as a whole was untruthful. Therefore, if the LDS church was founded on the untruthfulness of Christianity, does it believe it is also untruthful? I could go into false prophets and old vs. new covenant as well, but those are the 3 biggest reasons in my mind.

Unforchetly the church where I live has become more about the politics than glorifing the the lord this has actually been said to me " oh we can't do that because it will upset the old member of the congragation and they are the ones who give the money that pays our salaries" don't know how much longer I can fight for the changes God has placed on my heart its so exausting feeling like your banging you head on a brick wall! Amen! I agree with all of your points on what you feel church is to you. I feel we are the church. Individually, we are believers in Christ, and love people right where they are because Jesus loved us first right where we were, even while yet we were sinners He still loved us. Collectively, we sinners gather into a building to worship, and love each other, and point to Him to loved us unconditionally and bringing others to love Him. There is nothing to prove to nobody, but giving my heart and faith to God.

I think this is Amazing. My church recently purchased a new huge building, everyone has been stuck on this: the fact that God gave us this amazing building, but the pastors don't want to make any change to the spiritual church. The scripture says to constantly seek more, but my church and many otherchurches out their get stuck to their traditions, and this bothers me so much. They have defined their churches as a place and stick to their traditions; without realizing that this in fact is what the Bible says to not do. A small youth group, where I am involved in has been experiencing new amazing things, and the majority of the church is scared its not from God because its new to them, and they think that God will not gift the youth. This group and now some who are accepting the change (gifts from God) are getting hints from God that there is a huge revival coming to many Oregon churches and I'm sure its throughout the world. I would love to hear from others if their churches have been getting prophecies about this, and what exactly was said.
