Dude you did what you had to, covid took it's tole on everybody in the World. I will never forget that you were one of the reasons, I started buying and reselling used Motorcycles myself. Dude I was out of the motorcycle scene for over 20 years, until I saw your videos and Seans video at SRK cycles. Brother I was dealing in so many used Motorcycles, that I even had to get a Shop because I didn't have enough room in my garage at home to keep them in. I was lucky that my dad had a empty building with a two bay garage, and on the same block of he's Trucking Company"so I didn't have to buy a place. That's what saved me whenever covid came to America, had I bought a place it would have been more devastating to say the least. Even though we aren't completely shut down we're just about out of stock, I only have 4 bikes left at my shop besides the one's that are getting worked on in the back. Brother I have even sold most of the bikes I had in my personal collection, including my Victory Vision, Victory Kingpin, BMW K1100 Lt, 2 Yamaha Warrior XV 1700s, 2 Road Star XV 1700s , and my Harley Davidson Road Glide Special. I really miss them all but the Road Glide Special and the Victory Vision, I had intended to give to my Son and Daughter. Times got tougher than I expected, and they have family and homes to worry about themselves. I consider myself to have been blessed with the opportunity, to be able to help my family members in their time of need. Jon you remind me of myself in the sence that you have great survival skills, and you will make sure that your family will be Okay. ( Muchos grande mi amigo. )

I hear you man, I love dirt bikes and have been flipping dirt bikes for 20 years. I enjoy working on them, riding a different bike at the track and flipping them and at the same time buying/selling liquidation items. I am also a full time Refrigeration Mechanic. It has been about three years since I bought my last dirt bike for the same reasons you stopped buying. I hated most having people come to my house to inspect the bikes. I now just have the liquidation on the side and retired in my early 50's from being a Refrigeration Mechanic. All the best and great video. Toronto, Canada

Bro! I literally found this video because im struggling buying/selling bikes. I have 6 right now.. and the TIME IT TAKES to make sure the bike is legit and can be re-sold, marketplace, communication, just general issues, make it almost not worth it unless you really like playing with legos and want to work on these things for your own pleasure. once the joy diminishes its just straight up grinding.

Man I stopped because prices are wack like you said. Before 2020, you could get F4i for 2-2.5k, DRZ 2-3k, Dyna 3.5k, etc. now it’s almost double. From 19-20, had an F4i, XR650R,WR450F, Dyna all for 6k. Any one of those bikes is 5k now. Also I was active duty so wasn’t paying any taxes on sales or registration fees. Now that I am retired, same thing you said, it’s not worth it now. Next time economy crashes though, I’m back in it. It’s an addiction.

I guess the Wide Glide I bought in November 2020 was maybe one of the last to be able to go to Footwork and get the title, plate and registration in 15 minutes. The Arkansas Title and registration can still be done while you wait but you have to go to the county tax assessor first then to the Department of Revenue to get all that done. Yeah we pay personal property tax and registration on vehicles here.😒🤨 😮💨😮💨

With a higher end bike like that, I would require cash in hand, hold their license, and probably ask for proof of insurance tbh before considering a test ride. Alternatively, you could say no test rides but run it up and down the street for them or offer to meet at a dealer where they can have an inspection done if they want to. I wasn't always super smart about it myself back in the day, and I look back now and think of how bad it could have gone. Lol.

John, welcome to the California style DMV process. CA DMV tracks everything and makes it so if you don't register the bike your buy and turn around and sell it, without registering it, you get fined. If you don't report the sale of your bike, you are responsible for what the buyer does until you file a "release of liability." Then, the new owner has 10 days to register it or get fined. Also, after 4 or 5 vehicle purchases and sales in a year, you fall under "dealer status." Nevada, unlike CA, does not tax sales between private parties. CA taxes every transaction. AZ is getting filled with CA libtards so your system, over there, will eventually mirror our messed up governmental overreach system... Good luck. We could sent Gov. Gavin Newscum to you if you want our Governor!!! We don't need or want him... I bought a lot of bikes when living in NV because of no sales tax on the private party transaction. Now that I am back in CA (born here and have family here is why I am back), I just keep the same old bikes.... CA no longer takes your word for what you paid for the bike, the DMV does a KBB charge for tax purposes... Corrupt CA.
@JonsMotoGarage2 жыл бұрын
Kbb tax sounds terrible. The whole system is a mess.

@@JonsMotoGarage This guy doesn't know what hes talking about. DMV does not go by KBB. Just get a dealers license. Its not hard in CA and you don't pay sales tax when you pick up a bike. Also Jon I have been flipping for a few years and your channel was always a huuuuuge motivation for me. I even picked up a black t100 just like yours and customized to look very similar. Flipped it for $1600 profit. All the inspiration came from your videos. One day you will find a smoking deal on something you know the market on and you will hopefully catch the bug again. I know dealing with flakes and lowballers is draining. But do you remember the feeling of watching someone so stoked to ride away on their new bike and having a few extra bucks in your pocket? Wish you all the luck on your next venture.
