The song is typical of the Netherlands. It is in Dutch, a music genre, the music video features mills and stunning Dutch landscapes. Eurovision is an emotional affair for Joost. As a child, he watched it together with his parents. "Parents, one day I'm going to be on Eurovision stage" and he did. Unfortunately, his parents died when he was a child. This song is dedicated to his late father. That's why it's called EUROPAPA. The part in the song “I'm in Germany, but I'm so alone. I'm in Italy, but I still feel the pain, etc.", I feel it's directed at his parents... Joost loved his parents and still does. His lyrics are mostly very deep, but the melody is happy, danceable and the clips of his song are presented in a fun way. I'm so proud of him.

I also noticed the contrast between the melody and the lyrics. I wanted to point it out more, but because of its happy vibe and melody, I wasn't able to.

I love the contrast between the melody and lyrics. It sounds fun, but if you take a close look at the lyrics of the song, you'll appreciate its depth. 💙❤️💛🤍

This is really the 90th with happy hardcore and gabberpop; my beautiful childhood and how special it is that Joost, who was born in 1997, brings this style back into our lives. What an artist and a performer.🙏 Truly the best of the Netherlands ever. This song is with happiness and sadness combined, that releases all kinds of different feelings in a human body.Terrific beat, terrific feelings, thank you Joost.🙏🙏🙏 This is what music is about. If this isn't going to win, than I don't know it anymore and we'd better abolish the entire Eurovision Song Contest. Love this, love Joost, with love and 12 points.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉😊😊

The story itself is about Europe and his father, but its done in a 100% Dutch way. Everything is typical Dutch, the humor, the music, the clip itself, everything. Besides that he is gonna bring happy hardcore to Eurovision, what a legend. He is an artist and this 'thing' is a masterpiece. Never ever have i been more proud of a Dutch song. Joost goat, denk groot!!

If you listen to the lyrics. Its kind of sad, he is lonely in Italy. Help. The burning picture and house is closure. Time to let the pain go. I am from his hometown Leeuwarden, Unicorn Joost🎉. We are so proud, this is 100% smart funny and has a deeper meaning . But his father taught him from working with refuges there are no borders ❤

12 points to The Netherlands. The winner of the Eurovision Songcontest 2024. This is a masterpiece. Euro papa= Euro dad, because papa is dad in Dutch. A sad song with lyrics with a meaning, with a message, in a happy hardcore melody. A letter to his father who died when he was a 12 year old child. His mother past away a year later. He promised his father that he will be someday on the Eurovision Songcontest stage. His father told him that it is possible because there are no borders between the countries, and no limits to follow his dream. Borders and limitations are made by human. In every country he went, he felt the pain and grief of no having his parents. The fire symbolise letting go of the grief and pain, and the start of a new chapter in his live.

1. It a (fun) song and vid about europe. 2. It’s a story of his parents and specifically his father. Please check out his song: Florida 2009 joost klein on yt, then you will understand. Try to find English subtitles with this song. Maybe already mentioned: papa is dad in dutch. So it’s about the story his father told him about europe and borders. Euro-pa-pa (like Euro-dad).

I have two favorites, 1. Croatia and 2. The Netherlands. Of course as a Finn I hope Finland will qualify to finals. And I am happy to travel to The NL after two weeks for a holiday! Let's find out how much I hear Europapa over there. 😅

Well, I love Baby Lasagna, but quite honestly, I have been traumatized due to the hate comments I have received for supporting him. Anyway, he is still my most favorite one, but for now, I'd love to focus more on supporting contestants with friendly fans especially, of course the country that has a very special spot in my heart, Windows95man from Finland. Joost Klein seems to be such a genuine person with such depth, so I'd love to support him as well.

@@princeblworld I don't understand people who concentrate on only insulting people, like it is their purpose of life! There are so many tastes of music and imo no one has the right to send hate comments to somebody who likes a song that you even hate. 🩵

To properly understand this song, one must have watched the Dutch television series "New Kids." It is a direct derivative of that popular series. Joost capitalizes on the popularity of that series. He sees himself as an artist. Personally, I don't mind him having success, but he's not very original, especially as an artist. I can see him somewhere in the top 10 of Eurovision. Number 1 is certainly not guaranteed unless the European youth overwhelmingly vote for him. He is popular, though.
