More of a Challenge Run, but my friend and I made up turtle% some time ago. The premise is simple: 50cc with the slowest kart combo and you must always press A&B. The goal? Finish a race. *Any* race. Edit: @AZakgg is the first person to have posted a video of them completing the challenge. They did use items though, which makes this challenge considerably easier than I planned it to be. Someone wanna try this without items, I'll put their name up here too 😉

New idea: Rainbow% - Play all 14 Rainbow Roads as fast as possible, including remakes, which means you have to switch as quickly as you can between each console, so the optimal way is to have an electrical hazard with each individual one plugged in Also ultra shortcuts are banned

i got drown percent in 1.791 seconds how i did it: go on PPC and choose the following combo: funky kong, bone rattler, off road tires, and paper glider and choose 200cc time trial, as soon as the run starts immediately use your shrooms and drift to the left going into the out of bounds arrow for lakitu to pick you up and get drowned

Banana% Baby Park, but the only item is triple banana. I’ve tried it with my friends many times and it’s actually hilarious fun. Bananas seem so mundane until you try this out. Also, I would love to see some of these become official and get speedrunning history videos done for them.

I do triple banana, crazy 8 (when the only crazy 8 items you have enabled are bananas, this effectively becomes an octuple banana), and lightning (if you have triple bananas or crazy 8s when you are hit with lightning, the items drop on the ground)

fun fact: you can see that petey piranha got second place on the hell% speedrun (more like slowwalk) because petey piranha has the most invincibility stat out of all the characters, showing invincibility really is important! (dont ask me about baby mario in 4th, he probably got that many points due to luck+high acceleration but invincibility helps more than accel

Let me explain this out You’ll have to hit someone with the green shell, red shell, bomb, and banana. You’ll have to hit someone with a star AND take a shortcut with it. Take a shortcut with the mushroom and use the coin at 8 or lower coins And use the blooper in last place

Nice video! The Circuit% category immediately made me think of the scrapped "World Tour" category exstension, which simply was the same thing but with all of the city courses. We could probably throw a little twist on it as well, like you need to use a character from that country for each track, switching between races.

I don't remember how it happened, but I hit myself with my own red shell once. I play MK8 casually, so I'm not really sure how red shells route. I was in 1st or 2nd place and threw the shell forward. When I threw it, I think it was during a part of the course where karts "behind" me were in front of me, driving in an opposite direction (lap 3 of peach's garden is an example of where this sort of thing happens). The shell went forward for just a couple seconds before it pivoted and hit me as I rounded a bend. Red yourself wouldn't be as funny as blue yourself, but it would probably be more technical and less RNG reliant

I HAVE A GOOD ONE, iirc it was you who made the "which courses can you drift infinitely on?" video, right? Well. Dog Goes To Bed%. How fast can you get to one of those locations, then drift in a circle three times, like a dog getting ready to sleep? I feel like it's a good one because you maybe get speedrun glitch strats to *get* to the location? It has room for people to figure out which track is in fact the fastest, with bike combo, glitches, and actual drift space. Hell% would probably be easier if you weren’t front running. Might work to go to the back wait a few seconds, then drive. Feels counter intuitive but the cpu might go fast enough for you to only catch up last second if you don’t drift or generally try to go fast. Might be faster for you since you take out all the time you’re getting blued.
