Hi Sideeg, I just published a video to my channel with 2x All American Mitch Minotti from Lehigh. We break down the whole match and he really went in depth and show us the nuances of his technique and mindset. If you enjoyed this I think you'd enjoy ours. DPS, you forgot the set ups. Burrough in this clip he had a collar tie and the opponent had too. This single didn't work without good set ups

Burroughs has one of the best single legs in the world, it just gets overlooked by his doubles.
@thesneakygamer43435 жыл бұрын
Hipster Hippo he shoots singles more these days. Burroughs doesn’t hit the double as much as he used to
@thesneakygamer43435 жыл бұрын
@Joseph Reed That is part of it, but he is also aging. I don't think his double is as explosive as it used to be.
@thesneakygamer43435 жыл бұрын
Joseph Reed true but in his matches against Hosseinkhani, Sidakov, and IMAR at final x, Burroughs struggled to get to his double and shot singles a lot
@thesneakygamer43435 жыл бұрын
@Joseph Reed Burroughs really should have beat him by at least 4 points. Seemed like he was disinterested in scoring for the majority of the match.

I love these studies! Just the time it takes to find the clips and edit the videos must be a ton of work. A part of Martinez's defense worth mentioning is his use of the shin whizzer starting at :27 and 5:08. The shin whizzer creates a lot of pressure on the shoulder and helps break the attacker's posture as much as or more than the pressure on the head. It also stops Burroughs from attaking the far leg. A great counter to the shin whizzer is to slide the near leg underneath it and table the whizzer. That's what Burroughs does at 5:48, and it's (plus the drive you talk about) what allows him to come up to his feet with a tight grip on the ankle. Another cool thing happens at 12:02. Not only does Martinez get his whizzer with his left arm, he also uses his right arm to block Jordan's attempt to catch Martinez's right hip. Ton of great details in your video. I'm going to start making my wrestlers watch them. Yanni D is probably the best in the world with a shin whizzer right now. Would love to see that study!

I never wrestled in school. I'm 38 and I'm just past my first year in jiujitsu, but I can't shoot singles or doubles for anything and this video had me drilling at 1 in the morning for a few minutes.

It's in the level change. And when levels change it gives him just enough time and space for the hip drive of his back foot to get his weight underneath. He level changes off of the back foot for explosion. Sometimes you'll even him chop the arms in the process of the shot
