There was humor, dark humor. It's like a train wreck that you can't look away from. Dark humor has a purpose in times like this, because if we couldn't laugh about how ridiculous it all is, we'd lose our minds. I think a lot of people believe if you find humor in this, you don't realize how dangerous it is or that you don't care. But it couldn't be farther from the truth. People who come from bad neighborhoods, abusive homes, or work in dangerous environments with much loss of life use dark humor to keep themselves sane.

Ya. I voted against Trump in both elections. My big thing leading into his first run was this. Say a 9-11 happened on his watch. He would be out there tweeting something to the effect of gasoline on the fire. Say whatever you want about Bush. But at least he was wise enough to listen to advisors and proclaim not every Muslim is a terrorist. I remember that day. If Trump was in office for a second 9-11. We would of have such crazy division beyond anything we saw before. That was reason for me to vote against him right there. Never mattered what I thought of anything else he said.

And the quote most people use, regarding Republicans believing anything? It's true, but Trump didn't actually say it. Edit: Actually, I made a mistake. Republicans wouldn't believe anything that required them to squash their hate or show genuine empathy. At best, they find ways to pretend they're offering everyone equal opportunity, while carefully defining the rules to handicap their victims.

One of my favorite bits ever was the guy with the red shirt who had the dates on his back and he couldn't figure out that 4 years was only one term.
@loicjeannin62333 жыл бұрын
If you listen to what he says, he wrote the *beginning* date of each terms - not beginning / end date - and that checks out. This is one of the rare moments in these interviews that Jordan was actually wrong.
@clairenollet23893 жыл бұрын
@@loicjeannin6233 His shirt says: Trump 2016-2020. Then there's a gap of 4 years, and the shirt goes on to say: Ivanka 2024-2028. Then there's another gap of 4 years (2024-2028) John Jr 2032-2036. (gap of the years 2028-2032) Etc. That's how hyphens work in the English language. If I write, "I worked for X Hospital 1990-2010," that means I started there in 1990, and finished in 2010. It doesn't mean I started in 1990 and started again in 2010. You'd also write, "World War One ran from 1914-1918, and World War Two ran from 1939-1945." That doesn't mean the wars started in 1914 and started again in 1918, and started in 1939 and started again in 1945. When you put a hyphen between two numbers in the English language (and most other languages that I know of), you're indicating a starting point and an ending point, NOT two beginning points. How else would you know what how long the time interval lasted? I see what you're saying, that's he's only using the beginning dates, but unfortunately, that's not how the English language works. Maybe he MEANT to indicate these were the beginning dates of each beginning year in 2-term presidencies, but what he actually paid to have custom printed on his back in fact said, "Each Trump will have a 4-year presidency, and in between each Trump we'll have someone else." If he really wanted to indicate that each Trump would have a 2-term presidency, he should have had written: Trump 2016-2024. Ivanka 2024-2032. John Jr. 2032-2040. Etc. I'm sorry this man's maladroitness with the English language made him look clueless on cable TV. I'm sorry that the person at the custom T-shirt company didn't bother to ask, "Are you sure that's what you wanted to write?" Those two individuals obviously didn't pay attention in elementary school in both English and Mathematics classes. Had they done so, they wouldn't have printed the dates differently.

America is heavenly influenced by what Europe did, and the reason why the Constitution is so short is an influence from Napoleon. He believed that a Constitution should be short so that more detailed laws can be created. Which makes sense once you think about, a framework should always be simple (like your house, just a bunch of 2x4 for the frame).
@AZOffRoadster3 жыл бұрын
@@arcadion448 ummm... did you mean 'heavily' influenced? 'Heavenly' carries a whole lot of baggage with it.

@@arcadion448 What are you talking about, Napoleon? The storming of the Bastille didn't occur until 1789, two whole years after the US Constitution was written. And Napoleon didn't really come into play in France until his coup in 1799, before that he was just some fairly unknown officer in the French Army. I'm not saying the French Revolutionaries didn't influence the founding fathers and their ideals that they laid down in the Constitution, they most assuredly did. But Napoleon had nothing to do with it. And I also couldn't find any reference to your statement that Napoleon believed in a "short constitution", I have never heard that. I'm not saying it's necessarily not true but I would be really interested to know where you got that claim from.
