@jordansamuelskin35505 жыл бұрын
Charlene H oh yes. Always ask your doctor. Because they have VERY different opinions. It depends on more the type of acid but the %, the formula. The medium used in etc

I would love to hear the 2 of you speak about HOW each ingredient works as opposed to just WHAT it does. Great vid!
@jordansamuelskin35505 жыл бұрын
KK TN thank you! For this video all acids mentioned are essentially working the same. Dissolving dead cells by breaking down the bond between cells. Think of a brick and mortar analogy. That’s not perfect science but a good start.
@kktn47395 жыл бұрын
Jordan Samuel Skin but we talk about stimulating collagen production esp w glycolic. How does that work? How does reduction in redness work with mandelic? Hydration with lactic! Etc 😬😘
@jordansamuelskin35505 жыл бұрын
KK TN all acids stimulate collagen not just glycolic. Any time the skin feels “injured” it helps to stimulate fibroblast cells. That’s what happens when we are younger and have more prominent scars. Skin has been injured. Fibroblast cells kick into play. I would not consider MA a redness reducer. I’m sure you could find a formula like that but I have never experienced that. Lactic acid isn’t hydrating in nature it *has* moisture retention qualities so anything applied after it will help to hold on to that moisture.

Zeyna Nd melasma and hyperpigmentation can both be VERY different and sometimes don’t react to the same treatments. For pregnancy/breastfeeding ingredients talk to your doctor. Nobody else. Great video, very informative. However, I wonder about Nerida's comment that tretinoin can be absorbed into the blood. There are several well designed studies that show that it is not, in fact, absorbed systemically. I wish Nerida would cite her sources. Also, the fact that tretinoin is prescription only in the US does not mean anything. There are plenty of countries where it it sold over the counter and all of the people who use it live happily ever after. Yes, tretinoin is not to be used lightly, however, it is not a big bad wolf we have to be afraid of .
