I can't wait for Le Man this year just because of this car ❤

Jordan gives away his sportscar roots by using the moniker "NASCAR" for the car itself. He's a seasoned and fast driver, and it's a pleasure watching him work that big car.

Epic! No other way to say it. Kudos to C&D for including the G56. This car needs to do a farewell tour of other US tracks!!!!

This car was such a marketing win for Chevrolet. I love what they did with it. Pure fun in motorsport.

It’s was a lot fun to see the Garage 56 Camaro and the Airslayer in the mix this year along with the Beamer. Not that the Bimmers weren’t fun too but it’s neat to see where other areas of the motoring world place in the rankings. It also raises the perpetual tire question, if some of the top performing street cars like the new GT3 RS weren’t limited to road legal tires how much of the 10.5 second gap could it close if you let it run on track slicks.
@spdcrzy9 ай бұрын
Not much. These two cars have SO much more downforce AND so much power that the GT3 RS basically doesn't stand a chance.
@johnpenwell64029 ай бұрын
@@spdcrzy oh yeah I’d never expect it to close the gap, but on the lower end there’s been some wild improvements when cars switch from something like a PS4S to a Sport Cup 2 level tire, the Audi RS3 comes to mind, and now that you’ve got a few dedicated race cars sitting at the top it’d be interesting what that next step up from SC2 type tire to a true racing slick can do for those top end street cars.
@spdcrzy9 ай бұрын
@@johnpenwell6402 for the GT3 RS it still wouldn't do that much. It's a 3300 lb car. By racecar standards, that's INCREDIBLY heavy. It's not until you start getting into cars like the Senna, which are comparable in both weight AND downforce, that slicks will make much of a difference.
@griffinfaulkner35149 ай бұрын
@@spdcrzyEven the Senna would struggle to match the two race cars they brought, it just doesn't have the same level of front end grip. Chris Harris tested one against a McLaren 650S GT3 at Silverstone and noted that even accounting for the street tires, it simply didn't have anywhere near the turn in or neutral balance of the GT3. Now consider that the G56 Camaro was several seconds a lap faster than _GTEs_ at Le Mans, not through top speed (it was only a few MPH faster), but through sheer mechanical grip and acceleration in the low speed sections.

I just did a side by side timed video comparison with a Hendrick Track Attack 850hp car and this, for the shared parts of the Grand vs Full VIR track. I cannot believe the difference. The Track Attack has much more top end, but this thing blasts through the corners like the Track Attack is standing still. I'm in awe of this vehicle, but wish they paired it with the big hp engine that doesn't need to last 30 hours straight.

Damn the day of he was told they want him to break the record? Think if he got like 6 months of practice. He’s obviously a professional. Awesome to know there’s drivers like this.

And they only brought 2 sets of tires, and a set is only good for a single hot lap. They boxed themselves in a corner and could have taken the 1 spot.

Only in this Garage 56 version of a Cup Car. It has paddle shifters for the transmission whereas a standard Cup Car has a shift lever for the sequential transmission. Standard Cup Cars also have regular round steering wheels.
