I work in a municipal city offices. I have had a couple of cash handling classes throughout my 14 years with the City that I work for. As you are counting your $$, keep a small container of paperclips near you. Sort and count your money into stacks by bill type. Put a per clip on stacks of $25 ones, on stacks of $500 twenties. You can even click $5 and $10s in $100 stacks to help you not lose count of where you are at. I love your videos and you are doing great.

Hi Jordan! I’m so glad you did this video bc I have to confess that I also had to unstuff my sinking fund binder last month 😭 it felt so uncomfortable bc I just wanted to keep it in there and watch it grow, but that’s what savings are for. It’s so much better than swiping a card, so you’re still doing amazing!! Thank you for continuing to share your journey with us , we love you! 💕

I work as an accounts receivable and would recommend counting how many bills you have in each denomination. Write it on a note and then add it up. That may be easier to know how much you have. ☺️

yes, Jordan! Sooo much yes in this video. Appreciate the rawness of it all. Don’t ever feel as though you have to apologize for taking time for yourself and your sons. Self care before all else. So satisfying to watched you unstuffing all those money. Lately I changed my mind that I will put $5 notes aside whenever I get changed from buying things(and try not to spend it lol). On the end of the month or during my off day, I will do a bill exchange to $10/$50 note from the $5 note I kept for one month.

Hi Jordan. I’m new to your channel and love it. Love how you’re very real and relatable. Glad you took some time for yourself…we all need that, especially when working and having young kids. I have 5 kids, all grown ages 21-38 but I remember well needing some “me” time…which was a long bubble bath at the end of the day after my husband got home from work. I think you budget on the bare minimum of what you think your income will be for the month, and then use the excess (presumably for the extra you may make from KZbin) you didnt account for from KZbin for your sinking funds. You prioritize your emergency fund, your bills/business & debt and then worry about your sinking funds. After your ER fund, bills/business & debt payments, If you dont have enough for your sinking funds, then you cut back on the whatever you can in your bills category like cutting out subscriptions, lowering your grocery bill, sell something, lower your phone bill, cut cable etc.

Does your money ever go to a bank?
@MarcellHobbs3 жыл бұрын
You mentioned comments from my greatest curiosity at 8-9 minutes in, you have cash devoted in envelopes, but you spend using debit or credit with Amazon or drink machine. That is my greatest confusion with this whole process. I have direct deposit and automatic bill pay. I can’t see stuffing as a benefit outside of saving for a project. Please help and describe. I’m so interested.
@JordanBudgets3 жыл бұрын
Ohh yes I can see how that's confusing! I do have one credit card and an amazon card. When I spend on either of those I pull money from my envelope, put it in the bank, and pay off that card. So Christmas for example, I spent a lot on my Amazon for Christmas so I pulled all that money and paid off the card the next time I went to the bank. It's helpful to see the money in cash so you know exactly what you have. If I just had this $2,500 sitting in the bank I would have spent much more on Christmas because I would feel like I have that much for Christmas. I hope that makes sense. As for the drink machine, I didn't give myself cash this last week for variable expenses so I used my card all week and I spent way more than I usually do. That was just a cash budgeting flop on my end. 💙
@MarcellHobbs3 жыл бұрын
@@JordanBudgets okay, yes that makes sense. I ordered a Money Budget Planner from Passionate Penny Pincher. It is supposed to come with envelopes. It just shipped out today and when it arrives I’ll share an introduction review on my channel. I think it may springboard my process. Thanks for your explanation. Blessings❣️
@DavidEVogel3 жыл бұрын
you have cash devoted in envelopes, but you spend using debit or credit with Amazon or drink machine. Your brain is accustomed to "charge it," so you do not think in terms of credit cards. A dental cleaning is $150. Pay with cash. An oil change for your car is $50. Pay in cash. Pay cash for groceries.

Every time you use plastic credit,the bank always charges you tax and takes it off your card as interest for using the building’s vendor machine. That is called interest,which is very sneaky. Sharen
