Wonderful video! I learned to fly at this airport. Fly on a PC at least. In the real world my home airport region is a lot less interesting. I still remember trying to figure out what the hell that manual was talking about with them there V-O-ares. My first multiplayer session was at Meig's as well. I've put Meig's back in FS2004, FSX, and Prepar3D as well with the help of freeware scenery that was available.I think it's great that Orbx has put this field back on the map! Thanks again for the video!!

Good to see it properly Navy Pier, Adler Planetarium, the parks district, the art museum and the infamous Cloudgate. Those are some very iconic landmarkds/tourist places within Chicago.

Very nice to see. I was on Meigs fueld also in 1998. But one thing .....on 19:30 , you,he , is flying to close at the building. In real impossible to do....forget it. I used Meigs rnw36 always for takeoff , fly around, and landing. We always climbed till 2000 ft. Actually 1500 ft. is a little bit low. But the video is great. Anyone can tell me wiche FS this is ?Thank you.

Hi, great video, the graphics are awesome! running very smoothly. This video is 1 year old, but I hope you read this: I just wanted to say something, I'm a flight instructor so just like a real flight we never stop looking for mistakes, to help the student improve their flying. I don't know how much you know, or if you are a "real life" pilot, but I wanted to give this input, i'm sorry. During the approach you were bellow the ideal glide path, It's better to correct it by applying thrust, instead of pointing the nose up to chase the path, because the airspeed will decrease. I know that you wanted to maintain 60kt during the short final, but you were maintaining that speed with a high angle of attack, a lot of bad things can happen when you are slow and the nose is up, like a strong wind (it was actually a factor during your flight) could increase the high angle of attack even more, leading to stall, or a tail strike, as you need to flare and lift the nose even more during touch down. The "safe" approach is the one you come with the nose slightly low, pointing it to the runway, when the aircraft is low enough you lift the nose to a leveled flight just above the runway and as you lose speed, start lifting the nose again to flare and then touch down. BUT this is only valid for light aircraft, if you do this with a 737 everyone will be killed haha If you learned different or you CFI had a different vision, please share it, maybe i'm doing it wrong my whole life lol

Power for altitude, pitch for speed. You are correct. Thats how I fly in real life. But I was using a game controller for this flight and applying precise power and trim is a bit difficult with it so I did it the stick and rudder way. Thanks for your input.

+Michael Sweeney I would suggest REX4 with Soft Clouds. It is the newer version with better loading and textures.

God I want this airport so bad for fsx but can't afford it so many memories from 95 I probably spent 200 hours in real life time flying in and out of there in simulators.
