Thank you for this vid. I bought this phone to have a landline in my office. I don't like that it does not have speakerphone, but I like that I am saving $5 per month instead of paying Comcast for voicemail , and it is my voice on the recording. This video was great because it taught me how to set the phone and record the outgoing message!

I’m definitely more into the newer models. Hope to see more soon. I don’t like that it resets to low when the battery is removed. This means when you charge it, the full battery will overcharge since it thinks it’s low. The newest ones have a charge light. They’re still made to this day.

Great video of the Vtech (the Vetch) CS6124 DECT 6 Cordless the Telephone with the infamous Digitan Answering Machine, the Jordan, which has the newer voice the unfortunately. I do also have that the unit in my the cabinet. I will do a video of that the telephone when I the can.

Most of the CS-series phones are similar in feature set. All but the 6114/6124 have speakerphone.

This was the first cordless phone I had after moving to Georgia. It was a total waste of time, the phone once picked up to answer never had enough charge to speak for 2 mins. Always shuts down.

I found one at a thrift store a couple days ago NIB for a dollar decent phone for my collection even though I am not going to use it because I have my better quality Panasonic phones.

The videos of new phones that are still in production get more views for a few reasons. One is the folks who are looking for information about how to use it, but otherwise have no association with the electronics/phones community. The other is the amateur phone enthusiasts who want to see their favorite "telephone KZbinr" talk about the models they personally own or could easily get, because even after years of watching your channel, apparently they have not grasped or simply refuse the lessons on visiting thrift stores and/or why vintage electronics are better, so they only ever work with new models available at Walmart or what have you. Keep track of the amount of comments without proper grammar that exclaim they have the exact same telephone. And finally, a good amount of people just like the new stuff better. Do we have to keep doing the 420 "joke?" It's so cringeworthy that this channel would sink to that level. Stick with the geese and skunks, at least that's original. That's neat that it has one of the same ringers as some of the vtech 2.4 and 5.8 phones without speakerphone. Arguably the best of those ringers too. Also very cool that the handset compensates for having no speakerphone by showing the memo record countdown and such on screen. Goes to show that while it is a cheap phone, they actually tried to make it a good phone. Seems like the battery behavior is the same as several other lower-end vtechs where it will always register as low when inserted into the phone, no matter how charged it actually is. You have to leave it on the phone overnight for it to register as fully charged. But sometimes I've found that it never does register above "low battery" with certain batteries.

For years, I've thought about publishing some reviews on the newer models, the dilemma being by the time they come into my possession, they're usually out of production. Never really felt like spending the money to buy one for retail price in the store. I believe these are still in production though, so perhaps now is the time to do such. For what it's worth, and while I am absolutely no advocate of new, Chinese-made items, I've been quite pleased by what I've used from Vtech/AT&T that was made in the last few years. Certainly more pleased than what I've used from Panasonic. While the long-term effects have yet to be seen, and could very well go foul, it's worth noting for purposes of factual accuracy that it is not illegal in this area.
