You can tell the comment section are mostly AMA fans who have no clue about the GPs.. Yes the flyaway races don't have full grids but almost every other round does.. The tracks aren't trash (some are sure but some of the US tracks are as well) they're just not overgroomed chocolate cake every fucken round.. Most of the tracks are fucken epic MOTOCROSS tracks in incredible locations! with massively diverse conditions that can require completely different riding styles and bike setups, they don't even change the type of tyre in the states. Scoop for the starts job done! Saying all that I'd be much happier if the Luongo's weren't involved but it is what it is..

So very sad to see how many of the GP tracks look identical nowadays, shovelled up jumps on some waste ground at the back of industrial estates or building sites, just a different country and as Prado says, miles from anywhere and very often less than 20 riders behind the gate is not a good look.

We (ama) should be looking at asking existing promoters and track owners to do more than expand parking for campers. Track changes should be mandatory year to year. Nothing crazy but remove berms here, add them there. A few small re- routes. Rebuilding an uphill to not just be double doubles can create passing.. not hating on the status quo, but when he said the ama tracks were fun it’s because theyre new to him. Lets keep them new for everyone, riders, fans, analysts.. i really resonate with that comment.

@jmribeiro9129 күн бұрын
Prado is on point on this one, but there's also a detail that he mentioned that stuck with me: MXGP tracks are hard to race and that gives the riders some sort of higher ground when racing outdoors on the US. The tracks might not be fun and they lack public, but the riders that master them get so prepared to race everywhere else! (Unadilla example, around the 6min mark)

In the us you have stars, I barely know shit about motocross and am just becoming a fan, but I know who Jett is, I know who deegan is, and Ken roczen, and even though he’s getting older tomac, you have guys to cheer for or guys to wanna see loose depending on your perspective, I don’t think mxgp has that and it’s unfortunate, I think seriously they have some of if not the greatest riders in the world, I mean just look at what herlings did when he raced moto in the amas, it’s just that the track selection is shitty, it doesn’t get much coverage in the us, and it’s just not built up the way the amas are in the us, where I mean it’s damn near year round racing, you watch them in motocross, then super cross and smx, and it’s awesome, not to mention I think the amas allow for riders to show their personality more, I think if the gps did that it would be insane, but it’s gonna cost more
