I saw Hot Tuna at the Academy of Music in NYC,Manhattan about 1974. I had tickets to both early and late shows.I went in early evening and left with the 🌞 Sun starting to rise and a big smile 😊on my face.Great memories, fantastic shows! Jorma was at his best this night.I have been a Tuna fanatic ever since. My favorite band.Jorma is awesome both acoustic and electric.I love the way he gets his electric guitars to sing. Jack and Jorma really love playing music together and that is why they're still playing and I'm still listening!!

Having watched you age gracefully from about 1969 when I lived in SF and became a Tuna fan until now is great. Appreciate you and Jack are still making it swing with great virtuosity. Keep on Truck'in as we used to say back then. Much love and respect from another young old fart.

I've tried many times to get in touch with Jorma! I knew him as Jerry Kaukonen when we were both at The American School in Pasay City (Manila) Philippines! Little did we know then what a very talented entertainer he would become! Proud to have known him!

I was born on Nov 13, 1954. I listened to the Airplane as I was learning to play guitar. I played the album Quah the night I proposed to my wife. I sang and played "Today" at our wedding in July 1976. Tonight, Aug 25, 2019, we played a gig together. You have been present indirectly for the high points in the topography of our lives. Thank you very much for that.

"Today" the old Airplane song from 1967 is an unusual choice for your wedding in 1976.We're you married outdoors in San Francisco?

@@brianht1434 Nope! Catholic Church, actually. My wife sang the Ave Maria. Those were some weird times.

That solo show at the Birchmere when Jack didn't show up in the 80's? was wonderful for an Airplane fan from the beginning like me. What a treat.

@Kevin Kreusling I read a listing of the top 100 guitar players of all-time in Playboy magazine. This is I'm guessing maybe 15 years ago. Jorma was #37! Couldn't believe it, whoever prepared the list knew very little! The funniest thing was some guitarists listed above him! Totally ridiculous and absurd. In my opinion, he should be included in the top 5! Other guitarists were strictly electric or acoustic, none so incredlble on both. To this day, Jorma never recieves the respect he deserves!
