The "we love to play magic but can't play for shit" hit me hard. I can only play magic once or twice a month because of my job and I feel like that makes me have a similar mindset since I the desire the play is strong, but the opportunity is so minimal. Just wanted to say (if they ever see this comment) it's always a pleasure to see you guys on this, or any channel, cuz your personalities and humor really shine on camera. Always fun watching you play, even if you think it's not that great, which is A-OK! Also, I got some major Mandela vibes from that intro haha. I don't know if that was intentional or not but it nailed the aesthetic. And the creativity with these scary/wacky always has me coming back. It's like how every intro to The Simpsons/ Bob's Burgers is different! I've never skipped an intro because every second is worth it.

I keep going back and forth about kraum vs breeches. Kraum is bigger, gets better cards most of the time. Breeches is cheaper and gets more quantity.

I still wonder how Malcolm would work in a Jeskai shell with Akiri. Good artifacts can pump Akiri to be a beater, and white gives stax pieces since the combo is on combat.

I've played Izzet Polyhorn a bit (which is a great budget cedh deck), both Rograkh and Kediss. But, I hadn't really thought about Kraum. I guess I wouldn't want to give up the speed of the polymorph package in exchange for the grind of Kraum. Pretty sweet deck though.

My main deck is Malcolm//Kediss and while it doesn't play exactly like Malcolm//Kraum the general game plan is very much find a way to turbo out Glinthorn so I can safely say that the ability to make SO much mana while also playing land hate in Back to Basics really can't be underrated. Also having access to Magda to tutor your Glinthorn in Izzet is clutch. Overall a really sweet deck and I'm glad to see Dylan playing a underexplored partner pairing for Malcolm! 2 Dubs doesn't hurt either :D

it might be worth looking at putting keddiss in the command zone instead of kraum, keddiss means youre always gonna hit 3 opponents and make 3 treasures, plus theres curriosity that you can use then to draw stupidly well. The other thing i want to say about malcolm is that if you run magda brazen outlaw, reckless fireweaver and maskwood nexus you can win with just magda and malcolm as long as you have 10 treasures to sac. love malcolm

@@funsponge9099 It is considered attacking until the end of combat step. Example; you can activate ninjutsu after combat damage has been dealt. Not sure why it works this way, but it be like it do.

No one answered the why. The reason is that the combat phase has 5 steps. Beginning of Combat Step -> Declare Attackers Step -> Declare Blockers Step -> Combat Damage Step -> End of Combat Step. A creature "is attacking" if it is declared as an attacker in the declare attackers step and it will continue to be "an attacking creature" until the end of combat step (inclusive).

i do cantrip malcom and breeches. everything turns to pirate. with cast trigger global pings. it just goes bonkers and holds it's own against cedh. at a 110 budget tempted to put the money cards in it

I made a pauper Malcom / Breeches that wins by turning ping critter into pirates and untapping them with Freed From the Reel. Pretty fun deck! Even with tutors tho it was difficult to go off sometimes. Breeches was nice in that regard. Just go for value.
