He did'nt write it. It was written by a German Nationalist who wanted the country to unite as one instead of many states. He set it to the tune Gott erhalte Franz den Kaiser which was a gift to Kaiser Franz II and it inspired from the British anthem God save the king when Haydn was in Britian and he heard it played as a national anthem so he made it like I said for the kaiser for his birthday.

Deutschland über alles. It''s a song composed by Joseph Haydn in 1797 and its lyrics were written by August Heinrich Hoffmann von Fallersleben in 1841. Elevated to national anthem in 1922, after the First World War (1914-1918), its first stanza was used during the Third Reich (1933-1945) followed by Horst-Wessel-Lied, anthem of the NSDAP. Canceled in 1949 due to the end of World War II (1939-1945), recognized in 1952 as the national anthem of West Germany, it remains until today firmly as the national anthem of Germany. Hugs.

Namaskar, Germany from India. We have our own tradition of classical music which is quite the opposite in structure and essence from this but while being deeply enchanted by my own ancestral tradition, I keep coming back to this style as well. So beautiful and rich. It feels, to me, that without these two obviously contradicting styles of music handed down to us through centuries, one cannot experience the universe in its metaphysical entirety. Rabindranath Tagore, a great polymath (who is also the composer of the Indian national anthem), actually said something on this, the English translation from the original Bengali of which goes like this: "For us, music has above all a transcendental significance. It disengages the spiritual from the happenings of life; it sings of the relationships of the human soul with the soul of things beyond. The world by day is like European music; a flowing concourse of vast harmony, composed of concord and discord and many disconnected fragments. And the night world is our Indian music; one pure, deep and tender raga. They both stir us, yet the two are contradictory in spirit. But that cannot be helped. At the very root nature is divided into two, day and night, unity and variety, finite and infinite. We men of India live in the realm of night; we are overpowered by the sense of One and Infinite. Our music draws the listener away beyond the limits of everyday human joys and sorrows, and takes us to that lonely region of renunciation which lies at the root of the universe, while European music leads us a variegated dance through the endless rise and fall of human grief and joy." Haydn's 'Das Deutschlandlied' (German anthem), Beethoven's 'Ode To Joy' (European anthem) and Tagore's 'Jana Gana Mana' (my own Indian anthem) are probably my personal favourite anthems of all time. They stir me deeply. Usually, I don't comment on these videos simply because it attracts usually lame replies or insults to me, my people or my country or some kind of political brawl but this moved me TOO deeply.

Erst 1805 fiel Salzburg an Österreich. „I care very little for Salzburg and not at all for the archbishop: I shit on both of them.“ - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Letter to Leopold Mozart (12 July 1783) Als Mozart lebte, leider nur sehr kurz lebte, nämlich von 1756 bis 1791, gab es das Problem Deutsch oder nicht Deutsch eigentlich noch gar nicht. +sapnute007 When has anyone ever forgot that? Germans have remembered it so well for so long that they have lost all confidence in the face of the new invading hordes. Perhaps it's time for you to encourage Germans to remember their strengths and not to knee-jerk respond with facile clichés. These are extremely dangerous times for Germany, and the entire Western world will be irreparably damaged if Germany is lost to the 'Religion of Peace'. Take strength, Germany. It is immoral to fail to appreciate your wonderful civilising contributions to the Western nations! Be proud! Appreciation from Ireland.

The men that were trapped in the many compartments of the battleship Tirpitz sang this as they met their fate. Even to the very end, their national pride still rose above their own concern. Any chance your government can get the other 2 verses back? I mean yeah I get the little nazi reference here and there but hey, this song was written wayy before the nazi party came around and was considered revolutionary at one point. Wouldn't restoring the whole anthem bring back honour and respect to your country's culture and history BEFORE the world wars?
@PawelK19860410 жыл бұрын
I am a Polish, and I must admit that the German national anthem is actually well written and melodic. You write about respect and cultural history of Germany and honor, but forget that Germany stained their honor, by their crimes. And this is a little imperialist overtones, though this can be said of any national anthem, but the anthem of Germany was the focal point of Nazi propaganda,
@shockwave229110 жыл бұрын
PawelK198604 I completely understand, but I would add that other countries have committed their own crimes in the past yet they have been using the same anthems for ages now. Although WW2 would be considered the worst war the world has ever seen, it has been nearly 70 years since it ended and I think its finally time we forgive and move on. As with Germany, it needs to realize that the Nazi regime is well and truly gone and (IMO) needs to make a transition out of its anti-nationalistic stance which is uninspiring and discourages the country from making new advancements. Restoring the anthem while informing the German people of its original context would still be within reasonable boundaries. But I understand if you disagree with me, coming from Poland which has been ravaged by its neighbors for centuries had hope given to them by its 'allies' when their was none.
@miro197710 жыл бұрын
In my opinion there is no nazi reference in this anthem. It was writen when germany consist of hundreds of bigger and smaller seperate counties, duchies, ect. like Bavaria, Prussia, Lippe, Braunschweig and so on. The meaning of the song is that these counties put back their local patriotism and unite to a whole country. Also, Deutschland über alles means that you personally should put your countries needs above your own. By the way, i don´t think there is a chance that these verses come back.
@BronanTheDestroyer10 жыл бұрын
Germany didn't exist as a unified state before the world wars. In each world war, Britain and France cheated Germany out of fear of her. The might and righteousness of the German people was a threat to their hegemony of Europe.

Melodien und Texte (u.a.

Und: was will man mehr?
@jeannettealishablankensee98514 жыл бұрын
So findet Erwachen statt !!!
