I'm at that stage now that last summer I was practicing coming in from the trapeze while entering a tack. It's really cool when it works out. My biggest fear in trapezing is when dropping the rear foot down on the hull, a wave knocks my foot off. It hasn't happened yet but is a concern especially because I mostly solo sail.

Yes, it's tricky, especially when on a beam reach. Unfortunately the only solution is to power up enough to lift the hull a little.

I think starting with the half position - try it in the most comfortable wind possible - just enough to feel the hull lift a little.

For more stability while fully extended out on the trapeze, if you have a righting line (Hawaiian System) hike out with it behind you, at about waist level. That way if your sailing and plough into a wave for example, instead of being flung forward (and the consequences of being Peter Pan) you can hold that line tight to prevent lurching forward. kind regards,

@@JoyriderTV my crew uses a short rope through toe strap at times to avoid Peter Pan and/or separation during bearing away--he likes it but am thinking that perhaps I could be kinder when bearing away hahahaha
