Hes a super underrated guitarist. The guitar nerds will tell you theres nothing musically complex about is playing. This is true but it's his approach and unique style that sets him a part from others. Also I dont know of any other except maybe edge that has as much technical skill as him. That guitar and amp cuts sharp!

They’re amazing. What does underrated even mean? They’re one of the biggest bands and commercial successes of the 2000’s. One of their songs even became a stadium anthem. Who else can claim the same? And Meg isn’t under underrated: it’s just a vocal minority of self-appointed critics of drumming technique who miss the point of her drumming. It’s meant to be sloppy, imprecise and minimalistic to serve the music.

It’s so obvious that jack makes songs that he likes playing and listening to. That’s what makes this band so unique. They are just two people who play what sounds good to them. They aren’t trying to be popular or be anything that they are not. Such an acquired taste and underrated band!! Wish I saw them live :(

@AJPennyPacker28 жыл бұрын
+Dylan JDMayne yeah you're right. It's just how good they were together. They had the chemistry. Or maybe it was just how good he was to be able to match her. That makes more sense, seems like he's doing all the special stuff up there, she's just keeping a steady beat like she pretty much always does. Not like she's being John Bonham up there. And yeah me too, hate that he's decided to quit.
@lcarpetrondookmariot76207 жыл бұрын
Dylan JDMayne even more amazingly, this song was a one-take improvised jam.
@viewman866 жыл бұрын
I dunno if that gives Meg enough credit. There's some times throughout songs in this show where her rhythm noticeably adapts to what he's doing. I think the biggest factor is chemistry. You can feel it in so many of their songs
@jetsamperes57626 жыл бұрын
she had to watch every gesture he made the whole show for direction. No set lists - no song played the same way twice. All those shows. Everyone dismisses your skills because you're a woman. Every guy only sees two things - your ta-tas not your tom toms. Without Meg White there is no Jack White. John Gillis maybe, but no Jack White.
@js44665 жыл бұрын
@@jetsamperes5762 "Without Meg White there is no Jack White" might be the dumbest thing I've read on a White Stripes video. Jack White is light years ahead of her musically, Meg can't even keep tempo and plays drums worse than high schooler. She is god awful from a technical standpoint. Constantly need direction from Jack. Other world-class drummers don't as often as she does. Jack carries her.

Each time I watch this I think there's never gonna be a band like them again, I'm glad I live in the same era as them. And I'm glad they headlined Opener/Heineken Festival in Poland once and played before Underworld. I pushed thru crowd before "that White Stripes rock band I didn't know" to get to the first row to see Underworld. How amazed I got when Jack and Meg started playing. I won't compare their guitar skills! The first time I listened to this song it did remind me of how I heard to Hendrix for the first time. For example: t's 'easy' to sound like Stevie Ray Vaughan but it is hard to sound like Hendrix. I love this raw tone and how there is an organised chaos in the guitar parts.

It does have the F holes, Jack covered the front with craft paper to reduce feedback and some hum. The guitar is a Kay "Hollow body, arch top, electric-acoustic."
@pokemon22747 жыл бұрын
The "To stop feed back story" is dumb, the strings vibrate the bridge which vibrate to make alot of the sound the car puts out acousticly, He has said he doesnt want to disclose why has paper on and says its personal, Allthough i cant know why he put paperon his, the main reasons i put paper on mine is to hide the plack where i somewhat dammaged my guitar because i was angry with the person who gave it to me, plus it also looks cool

@jacp56283 жыл бұрын
@@SS-fj2kl It may be. There's a debate about the guitar. Either he sent it off to a luthier who replaced some pretty major components or he swapped another guitar out for his Kay. Around 2005-2007 the Kay starts to look very different. It may be that hes using another hollow-body electric all together to save his Kay from the rigors of touring.
