Love that Iron Heart, great score. That quilted shirt jacket is nice too from Flint & Tinder.

For sure! Both have been so great, exciting to finally test the iron heart after hearing so much hype about it

Outerknown's blanket shirts are definitely my favorite these days, I had a Flint and Tinder one that was very similar in style but found it didn't hold up to wear as well, the fabric on the collar and cuffs started curling up in the way some flannels kinda do, while my Outerknown ones have maintained perfect shape after a lot of use, honestly one of my most recommended products.

Those look really nice, haven’t heard of them before! Definitely making a note to check them out sometime

If you are looking for a very comfortable, slimmer fit and interesting pattern I would also suggest Kato's ripper plaid shirts, they are about an 8oz made with organic cotton and sewn in LA. Otherwise for a more heavy flannel I highly, highly suggest UES. Easily on par with Iron Heart if not better (IMO) given they are usually cheaper as well

I own the western version of your iron heart. Love it but like you wish I got a size up. Mine is definitely starting to patina but it’s more of a white.

I heard the western one is even cut a bit smaller. I’ve gotten used to it but a size up would probably have been best. Can’t wait to see how mine wears over time

@@joshfenn It is, I actually prefer the fit of my workshirt better, but I'm also 6'3 and 220lbs. I mostly like the snaps of the western, but everything else is better on the workshirt.

Loved this video. I would love to see more clothing videos, like a lightweight flannel and other. We have a very similar style and I also dig what you wear in your videos. I also love that almost everything is made of natural materials. I just purged all my synthetic clothing.

So glad to hear this, I appreciate the support! Been really enjoying the apparel/clothing videos lately, they don’t seem to perform that well but the feedback seems to be great, shouldn’t be stopping anytime soon. I put out a video covering boots and another with some warm weather spring clothing since this came out if you’re interested! Brainstorming now a possible roundup of quality t-shirts as the weather turns and will definitely be doing more as I think of more ideas.

Beautiful flannel. I heard they are wind proof do they block the wind????
@joshfenn3 ай бұрын
Thanks! I can’t say I’ve tested it specifically for wind, but it’s extremely thick and very tightly woven so anecdotally it’s performed really well for me in the wind

Some companies such as Pladra put their sizing with tumbling dryers in mind. Did you tumble yours before your videos?
@joshfenn2 күн бұрын
I usually hang dry fully or do a split drying in the machine for 15-20 minutes and air drying the rest of the way.

Hey Josh, Excellent video! I feel that following you and Huckberry has affected my purchasing decisions as I'm wearing more and more overshirts lately. Couple of questions: 1. What watch are you wearing? Looks pretty cool and more matching the feel of the shirts, than the digital Casios. 2. Do you have any experience with Roark overshirts? Most of the brands you talk about aren't sold in the EU, so I'm looking for more global alternatives.
@joshfenn9 ай бұрын
Haha glad I’m rubbing off on you! Huckberry really opened me up to a ton of new stuff too, it’s been really fun to dive further in to the quality clothes. So happy you picked up on the new watch! It’s from Vaer, the D5 tropic. It’s the first proper diver that I’ve really loved the look of, excited to share in more detail in a video sometime soon - probably a spring edc update. 2. I’ve had my eye on Roark for a while but haven’t tried anything from them yet. I’ll be sure to make a note for future videos!
@PlamenBarzev9 ай бұрын
@@joshfenn D5 looks nice. I knew that VAER make very good field watches, but the diver is awesome. I became aware of Roark through Wasted Talent - you probably know them, but it's a pretty cool boutique with some nice collabs with VANS and Globe.

@@joshfenn quick update on Roark. Managed to get an outlet deal on a Square Go Jacket (RJ195-DKA) for around $35. Great quality, cool little details, and it seems that they've put a lot of thought in it, because it's very comfortable to move around. It's more on the shirt/warm weather jacket side, as I find it hard to fit a knitted sweater underneath. Cheers!

I was quite overweight for most of my life, I can definitely appreciate the ask. Unfortunately so many brands don’t have larger sizing but Filson comes to mind as the obvious choice off the top of my head. I’ve got quite a few of their pieces and they’ve all been great, sizing is very generous too (I’m a small in filson and they go up to 2-3XL I believe) Haven’t tried it personally but their Jac shirt would probably be their best item for a list like this. I’ve got an Alaskan guide flannel too but it’s more medium weight versus heavyweight. Regardless, I’ll try and do some brand research and see what I can find for future videos!
