Thank you! I've been going in circles about whether to get another bachelor's degree (my current bachelor's is in business), or to get a technical Master's degree, or to join a bootcamp, or to focus on certs. This specific video really helped me establish a path to break into IT. Course Careers > Certs > Masters, the route I have chosen. Thanks again!

got my COMPTIA A+ certification and a week ago before I got my certification I had interviewed for a IT help desk job at my local hospital. I successfully passed, but the hospital was unable to move my application forward because I did not have my A+ certification. fast forward to now. I do have the certification. But There are no open positions for that job at the hospital. I am eager to start working in the technology field and I already have technically a job lined up for that helpdesk position. I am currently stuck on what to do. I did apply to a few other facilities, but I don’t have the qualifications that they are looking for to jump right into the IT field. The manager in the IT department when I spoke with him during our interview really liked me and he had a great idea to evolve my previous medical assistant skills, which is what I currently work as to have the forefront of helping patient care on the technology side. I am just trying to decide if I should wait or should I continue to pursue other companies?

Hey Josh I am in the process of getting my second masters degree in Information Systems. My previous degrees were unrelated so i took on the second Masters using GI Bill so no cost out of my pocket. I will be finished with it early 2025. I really want to break into IT and former military background. Anything I can do now?

I didn't want to paint a picture of like, SHE GOT THE JOB BECAUSE OF COURSECAREERS! She did go through the course, which is designed to give you a technical base, hands-on experience, and the ability to interview well, but of course she did other stuff on her own. I think I asked what else she did outside of the course, at least I think I did lol

That was her degree...not the program but her speaking voice is very pleasant
@JoshMadakor
@JoshMadakor 2 ай бұрын
In these interviews, I make sure they share as much as possible of what they did so other people can learn. I don’t ask super targeted questions to highlight the course. Also it’s not just her degree, you said it yourself that her speaking is pleasant. EVERYTHING counts toward getting jobs. The purpose of the course is to give a technical foundation and the ability to display capability/personality in order to get hired. Could she have gotten a good job without the course? Of course. Could she have gotten a good job without the degree? Absolutely. I could talk about this a lot, but if you’re curious search for for my “employability framework” video, it will help you a lot when you go to job hunt ^^

Her speaking voice is on point, her charisma level is for sure maxed out. Regardless I think the course did still play a major component on getting the job.

Really? Trust me a degree in Film doesn’t help to land a Tech job. Tech interviews are largely based upon what you can show or articulate you have done in tech. The course definitely helped more than her degree.

Hey Josh, any chance you can give out the course for free to someone who is broke like myself😂? I’d for sure do a video😅. This course for sure can you get a job. I think in this case she had a lot of other things working for her but the course gave her the chance to actually get this specific job with the high salary.

Thanks for the comment! And you are absolutely right (imo), it's always a combination of things combined with consistency! I have a discount for the cyber course (just email me at the email address in my channel page), but I don't have one for the IT course. Both are offered through other companies so I have limited control over pricing and stuff, but I have more control over the cyber one :)
