I'm a new PDI chose the VW Polo dsg automatic fitted with He-Man dual controls which cost £500 I have a nice flat secondary mirror and eye check mirror from a company called grade 6 supplies. I've also fitted blind spot mirrors called frog eyes from a company called magnum. I also have a heads up display to keep an eye on the speed. Signed up with total drive also Great video as always 👍

Very useful video, I'm not a driving instructor but have a few more suggestions. 1. Student progress logbook* 2. Run flats or puncture repair kit 3. Coat/jumper and warning triangle incase of breakdown 4. Books/drawings/toy cars to explain/demo with * I know apps were mentioned, but if you're rocking a basic diary/calendar I'd assume you'd also want somewhere to log progress.

Exactly Mustang that's again why I use total drive.

Just a little thing to mention about the Duals josh, there isn't actually a type of dual where the Primary control (drivers side) doesn't move. ALL dual controls operate on cables (or bars) where the secondary set on the passenger side just pull down on the pedals in the footwell. To have a set where the drivers side pedal wouldn't move would require the car to have another master cylinder or clutch mechanism on the passenger side. The 2 types available are 'static', where when the PUPIL presses a pedal, the instructors pedals don't move, or the other type, where when the pupil presses the clutch or brake, the instructor's clutch or brake goes down at the same time. All duals are secondary controls, and just move the primary (drivers side) ones with cables or bars. Most of them are also the 'static' style.# Overall very informative, thanks for making these vids. Much appreicated. Oh, and the corsa probably had an Aluminium bonnet to save weight, so would't be magnetic 😉

Very informative thank you Seberous! While we ar eon the topic should I buy an audi a3 as my next car or would you recommend something else?

@@JoshRamwell if you think it would suit you, then go for it. Bound to be reliable. Base it off the comfort, ease of driving (for a learner of course) and most importantly the economics of owning it, specifically how much is it going to cost you. If it's viable crack on. Buy whatever you'll enjoy teaching in, fits the bill, and suits your pupils I'd say. So many cars out there. There isn't a perfect vehicle for everyone or every single profession.

Loving your video really informative and direct. I'm now doing my part 2 and have been overloading on videos about becoming a driving instructor and was really positive and enthusiastic but am starting to worry if perhaps I've bitten off more than I can chew? Am I going to be able to do this? Feeling very overwhelmed with how much to learn and how hard it is to pass! Is this normal to self doubt?

Completely normal Ryan. Don't stress my friend. I was the same but luckily I had a super supportive wife to keep me on the straight and narrow. Join the discord right now and speak to a massive group of people in the same situation as you. Here's the link. discord.gg/XUxj9STK5E

@JoshRamwell2 жыл бұрын
Any age spider there is no limit. As long a sits not a soft top the world is your oyster. Mine is 2016 my adi friends is 2010. Its what works for you. I would not choose. A petrol though as the amount of fuel will be crippling.

I have just passed Part 1 so studying for Part 2 now.I have a company van so have some bad habits re centre mirror not there. How old a car would you suggest for teaching? I'm considering a low mileage Fiesta 63 plate around £8k?
@JoshRamwell2 жыл бұрын
That would be perfect. The car doesn't matter and no student has ever complained or questioned about what car it will be. You just want something reliable and if manual diesel as you will use a lot of fuel.
