An area of disturbed weather moving into the Gulf this week has the potential to become a tropical depression or storm and head northeast towards Florida and the northern Gulf states. This video breaks down the latest forecast and potential impacts from heavy rainfall. I also cover four storms in the eastern Atlantic and a powerful typhoon approaching Taiwan.

As a New Orleanian, when a hurricane is approaching the coast, it comes in like a bull but then starts losing steam. This one didn’t. It became stronger which doesn’t happen. A Dew Weapon struck it. There’s evidence of it on other weather KZbin channels. It should have weakened going into FL, so NC should have never ever got hit this hard, wiping out whole towns. We flooded here to the tops of roofs and some houses were knocked off their slabs from Katrina, but I’m 66 and have never seen a hurricane do damage like this

People out here giving grief to the weatherman now? I swear its like everyone in America has lost their damn mind. Helene clearly traumatized some folks who have no experience with devastating storm surges but man bringing all your hostility to the guy just telling you what he sees in the weather patterns is demented.

The analysis is authoritative, measured, and professionally presented. So, I see no merit for criticism that the analysis is alarmist. My only criticism -- as a former network news producer -- is that the videos are too long and could be condensed, or, topics could be cestioned with time stamps, which would allow viewers to select topics that most inerest them. Doing that would take the burden off the viewer for having to edit the presentation by fast forwarding, rewinding, and basically searching for what's most interesting. Otherwise, this is an informationally rich product that makes meteorology understandable.

@@MsAnon4223 I use to live in Town n County, Sheldon and waters. I moved to Pinellas. Oldsmar to be exact. I am as far from the bay as you can possibly be in Oldsmar. Right across Tampa road a lot of flooding happened. My aunts house in TnC got flooded about a foot or so, and my step sisters house in St Pete got about 4-5 feet. Half of my neighborhood got their power restored on Saturday. Luckily we never lost power. I hope you didn’t experience any damage or flooding.

@@AnotherRigmarole thankfully no flooding for us. I was actually at the pier in Oldsmar Thursday afternoon before the storm. I was surprised how many other people were there. Lafayette Blvd was already flooded and closed from the morning high tide. It's really sad to see how many people were impacted. A friend of my son's who lives on Shore Dr was completely flooded out. They have one of those older homes that's built at ground level.

@@MsAnon4223 I’m very happy to hear you didn’t get any flooding. We were both at the Oldsmar pier at the same time then. I do that before every big storm.
