50 years ago I made such gimbals for Cincinnati ,Ohio based, World Engine. Once the largest radio control supplier in the USA and Canada. Yes we built the BlueMax transmitters and receivers... the machining was checked on a cathode ray tube .. and hand mic. After assembly they would be hand finished for a perfect fit and remarkable smoothness . There was also a 3 channel stick, elevator ailerons rudder, throttle was on a slider, of course there were switches for flaps and landing gear ...just sharing the past ...

Thanks for the comment. When I started out, Hall Effect gimbals was a common shorthand that meant that the gimbals were the top of the line units. Lately, hall effect sensing has become very common but the associated quality improvements; tighter tolerances, improved fitting, use of CNC parts rather than plastic, better adjust-ability and super smooth quality bearings are often omitted. It is nice to have a Hall Effect gimbal with that kind of stuff to fit again. Some may claim that they are too expensive, and for many pilots the extra smoothness and accuracy will not result in improved flying but any bad or worn gimbal will affect your fine control and hamper the flying experience. The price is a lot less than the high end gimbals I used for my older radios back in the day. These are the interface between your fingers and the rest of the R/C system so having gimbals that work well is key to making the flying a pleasure. Thanks again for the great comment, happy flying!

@@Painless360 Well, some may argue it is just a luxurious upgrade. Not the r/c heli pilot of my club that started doubting his own skills. He did not realize it was the old, wornout gimbals that caused less precize heli flying than he was used to. It took him months to pin this unprecize flying behaviour down to wornout gimbals. With the new gimbals he has regained self-confidence in his flying abilities again.

Nice sticks, but I just wish radiomaster would also offer a nice plain 'tray' style enclosure rather than what seems like the ubiquitous 'cuddle box' shape favoured by the 'cheaper' brands. Also wonder what percentage of flight profile improvement you get from those sticks - at the price, I'd expect at least to be an F3A master 😁.

I am hoping that following their success in being one of the main 'go-tos' of the modern hobby they will start to branch out with the designs a little more. Tray style would be interesting but a more compact, less bulky Tx16s would be great too! Happy flying!

Hi mate. I've been contemplating the AG01 gimbals for months now, but with the release of the Radiomaster Boxer I've also been thinking if I should switch over from my TX16S instead? I was speaking to Hodge recently and he said you're really impressed with the plastics on the Boxer? If you had to choose betwee the AG01 gimbals update on a TX16S or getting the Boxer would would you go for personally? That aside, Hodge was talking about going out to fly when he's off work. You're welcome to join us if uou fancy it? I dont live to far away from Hodge ( nantwich area).

Nice video, good that you made it clear that the led lights were an accessory, JB missed it in his video from yesterday. Now they are definitely getting more interesting, because I do not want my transmitter to look like Reeperbahn on a Friday night :) What about the sticks, they have the same thread as the original?

The regular gimbals are very nice to use and work really well. These do add an extra level but for many pilots it'll be just the 'bling' element that they get these for. Happy flying!

I'm very tempted. I love my TX16S and was very happy to spend almost £60 on the same faceplate and bling kit that you have. I know these gimbals take it to another level pricewise but I'm pretty sure I'll get them, albeit I'll wait for 3DXR to get them in stock. Do your purple stick ends fit the new gimbals?

After almost 1 year of owning my tx16, I'm considering AG01 gimbals. Do I need to get new bezels? Or is the correct term spacers? I see on Radiomaster when looking at the gimbals, there are spacers listed as "buy together and save".

I put these in my radio and the curve seems to be very radical for me. I either have to take them out or learn how to do curves which I am going to try. They are way too sensitive on the low end of the scale for both throttle and pitch. I am fairly disappointed in these for the money.

hey bro! there is only up and down travel adjustment for throttle and pitch, none for yaw and roll right? haven't really seen anyone mention is explicitly but by looking at the screw placement it seems like only up and down adjustment. is that correct? thanks!

Not that I've seen. Many pilots find clever ways to use gimbals not designed for their radios but I don't risk it here.. Happy flying!
