People are joking but the Circular hit is so baffling that I am genuinely convinced it was one of two things. 1. It was actually a custom banlist specifically for Josh. Or 2. Konami TCG was seeing the Mathmech complaints for Master Duel and thought it also applied to TCG somehow Because Mathmech was doing NOTHING over here

If it's a popular meme hit I'd be seriously mad at Konami. Mathmech was never worth hitting, even less so now. If a shitty stream meme made to make chatters clap caused a budget deck to be deleted from the format I no longer trust Konami to accidentally get things right. At best it's a spite hit and that I don't know why I'd keep giving money and time to a company like this. The idea some people are putting forward that it was a precaution made to avoid having it become good again since most other decks got nerfed (read: killed) ignores that they left decks which are infinitely better than full power Mathmech untouched. We've never needed an explanation blogpost from Konami more than now.

Mathmech has done literally nothing since Circular's hit and even at its peak (nearly a year and two power creep waves ago) it was tier 2 at best. Electrumite's hit is closer to Isolde's. Was it doing things? Yeah kind of, it got some tops. Did it need to be banned? Not really.

1 thing about Snatch Steal is that Mikanko can easily use it even on your opponents turn and then bounce it with mayowashidori to keep it and the card doesn't stop the monsters effect so I expect to see people trying that out

Unchained, Infernoble, Tear, arguably Mikanko, and Purrely range from dead and buried to kind of playable if you squint hard enough. The format is about to be Labrynth, Beatrice Turbo, and Runick variants without much resistance. The Phantom Nightmare decks aren't anywhere near as good as these three considering Transaction Rollback is about to cause another Scythe Lock format.

Out of those 3 decks only Silenforce will even really do anything. Meanwhile Lab will get Transaction Rollback and Fire Kings will get Bonfire, that and Snake-Eyes Populous and I don't see the format shrinking substantially with more releases.

@@geek593 infernoble and mikanko were like the 8th and 10th best deck. ishizu tears are dead but will be playable with lightsworn soon. purrely is still good and unchained is significantly weakened but not dead and buried yet. runick won 1 tournament after months of doing nothing and people are already overhyping it. I agree that every sign points to lab as the best deck but when the last banlist came out, many of us expected it too be atleast a top 3 deck and it underperformed. we will see it transaction rollback finally pushes it to best deck status

I guess these three floodgates are kinda asymmetrical, compared to Skill Drain which is only kinda asymmetrical. Asymmetrical floodgates do eventually get hit, and they maybe just finally acknowledged that these three count. (I mean asymmetrical in the sense that your deck only plays them if they don't really hurt you)

I'm super happy that Harp is back at 1, but if i'm being honest, I'm not sure what my build of the deck will be. I'd probably make it close to my previous build that uses the Scrap and Machina cards, but that seems much less playable than it used to be. Oddly, this is because of the curious hit that happened a while ago. I was testing with a more modern build and I couldn't figure out what the issue was with the plays I was making, then at some point I put together that I could no longer make curious with Scrap wyvern, golem, and recylcer. That extra send was a major part of what I did, so now I need to come up with something else. It shouldn't be too bad though, I can probably find something relatively quickly.

Isolde didn't need a hit. She was bannable back when she enabled Gumblar ftks and most players who said she needed to be banned just have ptsd from those days. In the context of Infernobles, she was just a standard combo enabler like most decks have but with the added detriment of having to run 2-3 bricks in the form of equips. Congrats, you kneecapped like the 7th or 8th best deck of the format for no real reason.

Even though the OCG usually comes first there are lots of cards not shared between TCG and OCG; including like Kuibelt or the whole Tistina archetype as recent examples. Tistina not a big deal but Kui is in every RDA deck in my experience. I don't necessarily mean a Mathmech release it could be a tcg exclusive machine or something. More likely it is MDs fault though. @@invertbrid
