I love to try new stuff...when I have money. Unfortunately, when we don't have spare money I get much more conservative with food because a meal that I legitimately don't like enough that I can't eat it just means an entire missed meal. I do wonder if tasting something on an empty stomach, versus doing it when "very full" does not affect a score. We all know things generally taste great when we are hungry, and this is why the French came up with the famous saying -"la faim est le meilleur condiment". So, to be fair, perhaps this deal should be spread out into more days, so you don't end up like a balloon and shoving more food down. The alternative would be a basic bulimia deal every 4 or 5 samplings.., but maybe not.

I made a comment similar to yours. Most American-Trinidadian restaurants are not authentic at all. And ppl leave thinking that that's what actual Trinidadian food tastes like when it's not true. There a a few double stands in Trinidad that sell doubles with chicken but it's not common at all and still it's not authentic because it's relatively a new "trend". Trinidad foods is judt one of those foods that you have to come here yourself to get an actual authentic food experience.

18:27 Jammu and Kashmir are missing from India's map. I never thought it would come from your video, Josh. It's an integral part of my country, and therefore, would you please take care of this note and update the map if you include India in your upcoming videos? It's a great video, Josh, and I am a huge fan of yours, too. I have been following you for a long time, but please respect my country's map and boundaries.

This DEFINITELY needs a round 2 as you still have things and nations you haven't tried yet and I do have some recommendations when I've lived in Queens for over 6 months there for an assignment. Vietnamese - Head for either JoJu or District Saigon. JoJu sells Bahn Mi at Elmhurst and their Bahn Mi isn't your typical Bahn Mi. On top of their typical Vietnamese styles, they do fusion stuff like Bulgogi Bahn Mi and stuff which, is pretty excellent as it goes well with the liver pate, the pickled veg and the baguette loaf itself. District Saigon on the other hand sells authentic Vietnamese dishes with close to no frills. It's as basic as it looks but it has kick to it. Their pho is obviously their most famous dish but it's basic but delicious. Russian - This might seem like a odd place to recommend as it's technically neither a food stand, a restaurant nor cafe but it's somehow like a deli and it's Varenyk House. They sell tons of Russian-Ukrainian dishes and the one I like the most is their variety of soups, mostly being their split pea soup or the Borsch and for their more hearty stuff, Chicken kyiv. If you want stuff on the go, their pierogis are great since you like dumplings that much. French - The French Workshop at the Bayside Area. I mean... Nothing much to say except they have a array of French pastries and breads to pick from so you can basically go ham and pic whatever you want. Taiwanese - Now being Chinese, this is the shit. Yes, Taiwanese food is close to Chinese food BUT, they're not the same and for that, I recommend Ok Canaan. Their scallion pancakes, Taiwanese crispy chicken, oyster mee sua (Idk how to say it in English but it's like wheat vermicilli I think? Idk do they still serve that. They used to) and the braised pork rice which comes with braised egg, meat patty and a side of pickles. They do have other dishes of course but I'm only recommending you the popular ones. Singaporean - Now... Being from here, we're also known to be the "Queens of SEA" as we're also a massive melting pot of culture where its easy to find almost all international foods across the globe on one small island nation BUT, when it comes to Queens itself, it's disappointing that you cannot find much Singaporean restaurant except one and that's Native Noodles WHICH, I have reservations about... Their stuff is.. Ok but since they're the only ones there, you can give it a shot but as a local Singaporean, I find their prices for the dishes they served fucking ridiculous and average when the other Native Noodles in Washington Heights is better but I digress. It's your call, give it a shot. Also, you forgot to mark Italy when you ate that pizza lmao.

As a polish guy I’m very pleased you went with pierogi, but come on! You gotta at least get some żurek or surówka or gołąbki or something. Also ruskie i guess is a classic (although would have gone with cabbage and mushrooms or with meat) but since when does ruskie just have potatoes? The potatoes need to have cottage cheese and onions, thats where all the magic happens!

The American food should have been a philly cheese steak or southern fried chicken. They're foods that aren't just not imports, but are also foods that can only exist due to the American experience (for good or ill). Hell, if you were really looking outward for foods that have no meaningful history until Americans got their hands on them, there's the nationwide favorite of the hamburger and fries. Bagels represent New York, not America as a whole.

Pierogi with potatoes? i'm kind of shocked they went with pierogi ruskie... i feel like more casual for our culture are stuffed with sauer kraut / mushrooms / grounded meat, mostly remaining after stocks so beef in most cases

Ye I dont know what kind of place that was, the strudle was also some weird american version I have never seen here, not to mention its just a weird choice to represent german food.

@@DubultaisT Not the point, as far as I have seen the video, he ate foods that are regulary eaten in those countries. Now as I have said I have never seen a strudle like that in germany, and its also not an everyday food for most people and the other guy said the kind of pierogi they got is also not the kind that usually prepared, so as I said its just a weird choice to eat those.
@1Grainer1Күн бұрын
@@Gandorhar +1 there are a lot of people who likes those, but our country loves pickled foods, even on christmas we have small pierogis called uszka, stuffed with mostly mushrooms, to add to borscht... as for how people eat pierogi ruskie, i think a lot of people tend to eat them with sour milk, a lot of cases it has also added grease from bacon and added bits, pierogis can be boiled or fried, in my home they were mostly pre boiled then fried for that additional crunch, but just boiled with added sour milk for lighter version is also a thing... what they got was most bland version they could have gotten
