Also, it helps to be familiar with Sam Raimi, who in all of his films plays everything completely straight. It's a joke for the audience but the characters take it seriously. I think the point of this scene is supposed to make us cringe but at the same time brought out Peter's confident, he's awkward and dorky but that's totally fine and he's confident about it. They showed how ppl reacted, some find him weird but some is intrigued but it doesn't matter to Peter. And that's what makes him interesting and attractive, being confident.

Yeah the way I understood it the symbiote only amplifies what's already there, and Peter was a genuinely good person so this was the limit of how bad/aggressive he would get due to its influence. I always loved this scene because it's hilarious and EXACTLY how he would be acting at this time. People who hate this scene clearly don't understand that it's supposed to be cringey and over the top to communicate the symbiote is exaggerating Peter's personality to an extreme level. He's loving every moment of himself, not realizing how much his behavior has changed from who he is and how dangerous that is.

@@JacobNintendoNerd99 I have to disagree-the fight at Harry's place is a really dark moment, and following it up immediately with the funniest comedy beat in the trilogy makes Peter seem too unsympathetic. @JacobNintendoNerd993 жыл бұрын
@@DistractedGlobeGuy The entire point *is* that Peter is an unsympathetic asshole. That’s kind of the point with the Symbiote affecting him in a hugely negative way so he’s not who he was before that OP kinda hinted at, and it better foreshadows him striking MJ later

I disagree. I understand that it's suppose to be cringe, but it comes right after he breaks into his former best friends house, ending with him flinging a live grenade at Harry, which goes off right in his face. This movie was so underappreciated and ahead of its time it's insane. Tobey Maguire is such an underrated actor.

It's funny how people fell for joker dancing recently, and hated those scenes so much back then, it's just brilliant when you stop to think that they could have peter just with regular secure guy behavior and woman falling for him, instead they played making something fun of it, and that it's true for the original spider man colors, even not being based on comics.

Joker was way different though, his dancing was terrible and made him look crazy and whatnot, that was the moment when he fucking lost it. Has nothing to do with with sass and edgyness lol…

This trilogy is so cheesy but masterpiece at the same time. It's cheesy may be due to outdatedness but still it has intrinsic charm and soul which most of the movies nowadays don't have. In Spiderman 1 many scenes feels cheesy, some really are and some are intentionally cheesy. 3 had definitely intended cheesy scenes, spiderman 2 had perfect humour. This trilogy is really fun and enjoyable every time I watch them. I can rewatch these movies many times and never get bored.
