Thank you so much. My late mom used to crochet bibs for new babies in the family and no one else was doing it after she passed so this helped me connect to the things she did without being too complicated and I have just sent one off to Guernsey for my little niece - all the way from South Africa. Thanks!

This is so beautiful. 😍 How many starting chains did you do in this example? I’m a major beginner and just want to practice to build up confidence before starting a full blanket.
@jototheworldcreations13 күн бұрын
Thank you! I forget the exact number of chains in this example but you can make a small swatch by making any number of starting chains in multiples of 6 + 2, which means to take any number that you can divide by 6 and then add 2 to that number (i.e. 18 + 2 = 20 starting chains required or 24 + 2 = 26 starting chains required). You could make a swatch with 20 starting chains or if you want your swatch to be a little bigger you could make a swatch with 26 starting chains. Hope this helps!

This is lovely! I can’t wait to start. If I wanted to make the border a different color, when would you recommend I change the color? Before the rows of sc or before the final shell border?
@jototheworldcreations17 күн бұрын
Hello and thank you! It's a personal preference but I "think" (and I haven't done this so it's just a guess) if I were to make the border with a different color, I would try the entire border in a different color so change colors after your last stitch of the blanket body and start Border Round 1 with a different color. But you can always experiment and if you don't like it, you can make the border with the same color as the body for Border Rounds 1 - 5 and then try using a different color for just the final round of the border. I'd love to know how it goes!

I am planning on making a baby blanket for a friend of my son’s. I have been making swatches of many different types of blankets. Today I took them for mom to be to pick one and she immediately chose this one. Yarn is ordered and I will begin when it arrives. Thank you for the great pattern and I hope the blanket turns out as nice as the swatch. The border really finishes it!

Would making this in a lighter yarn with a thinner hook work if I just increase the amount of rows etc? I love the pattern but the yarn I want to use calls for a 3.5 mm hook 🤔
@jototheworldcreations20 күн бұрын
Hello! When a yarn has a hook size listed on the label, it is just a suggestion and does not always match with the hook size recommended for a pattern. You can absolutely use a different hook size than what is listed on the label. Just ensure that the yarn weight you are using is the same that is listed in this pattern :)
@johannadavis697720 күн бұрын
@ Thank you! After looking at a few conversion charts I think I’ve figured out that the yarn I have is weight 2, so a bit lighter than the pattern calls for unfortunately
@jototheworldcreations17 күн бұрын
Ah I see! You are of course welcome to try different yarn weights as well as hook sizes but the overall look, feel and size of the blanket as well as the amount of yarn required may be different. :)

How many st did you make for your example pattern at the beginning?
@jototheworldcreations Жыл бұрын
Hi there! You can make a small sample like I did by making any number of starting chains in multiples of 6 + 2, which means to take any number that is a multiple of 6 and then add 2 to that number. So for example 18 + 2 = 20 or 24 + 2 = 26. Hope this helps.
