Thank you for this sweet pattern and tutorial! Used this for a lovey and a pacifier keeper! Have made other baby blankets that had the shell pattern made with lots of double crochets. They take a ton of yarn and take SO LONG to make! This one has such a wonderful texture and was so fun to crochet! The shell border is similar to others I’ve made … love that this one is finished with a border that gives the edges extra structure! Learned so much from this and had many inspirations as to how to use this for other items. Thanks again!❤️

I have a brand new interest in learning to crochet a baby blanket due to my daughters’s first baby!!! I will try to find the information, but would love to have instructions on how to do a double crochet and a slip stitch. I literally know nothing but really, really want to learn. Thanks! 🍼

That’s wonderful and congratulations!!! I am unable to share links in the comments but if you search Google for “how to double crochet” and “how to do a slip stitch crochet” a ton of great tutorials are available. Hope this helps and you enjoy learning crochet!

I don't really understand where the single crochets down the sides are supposed to go. I know in the written instructions it says not to put them in the spaces, but that looks like the only place they could go. Can anyone give me some more guidance?

Hello! You make your single crochet stitches into the stitches at the start/end of each row. You can insert your hook under one loop or two of those starting/ending stitches and then make your single crochet stitch. I found it best to work directly into stitches so that there isn’t a large gap (that’s why it says don’t work into spaces, which means don’t work into the spaces between stitches). Hope that helps!

I finished this yesterday. Making it for my grandson. He will arrive in July. Not perfect. But still very nice. Going to try to make the booties to match

I am a beginner in crochet 🧶 I started this sweet blanket by following along chaining 117. I did not realize this blanket would turn out to be a crib size blanket, which I was expecting. I was thinking it would be a baby receiving blanket size. But I have to say it turned out lovely and baby soft. Thank you for sharing.

I’m so glad to hear that it turned out lovely and soft! Thank you for watching! Yes, I try to indicate the size everywhere that it’s 39” x 47” 😀

@@jototheworldcreations can you please share the number chains to crochet for a receiving blanket?
@jototheworldcreations3 жыл бұрын
@@wanevacook5675 I designed this blanket to be the size that it is. Having it be a different size would be a whole new pattern. You’re welcome to try out different chains to get the size that you’d like but I haven’t made or tested this for a different size.

I did see this same crochet pattern on Sirin’s. She made her crochet blanket in a newborn chaining 81. Hopefully this will help you share how many chains for a newborn size.
