After some people used unmentionable parts of their body as character heads during tests, this was dropped."

I loved playing this game in the 80's I thought it was so cool they had "Real" Pictures of the Band Members Heads and Played "Real Music" as I called it and I thought it was real cool when it played actual Journey Music and not Electronic version of their music in the bonus round where you protect them from the fans. MAME can't emulate the caset tape audio so it's not the same as the real arcade machine but still cool, they should have made it so it plays a MP3 file or something, in setting for the game they could have MP3 file to play at bonus round..
@JinzoCrash8 жыл бұрын
Well, the uploader said he took it out for copyright reasons. Was that how it worked though? It played a tape recording of their song? Is it like Q*Bert, where instead of a kicker for Coily at the bottom of the machine, it played music that wasn't in the game's programming?
@dallase18 жыл бұрын
I kicker is something mechanical that can't be emulated with software unless maybe it could play a real low Bass not for those that have a Sub on their PC or on a tablet or phone it would activate the vibration when Colly fell off so that is different also why would it play a song for Colly falling off ? If you are playing Journey at home why could you not then be able to emulate the cassette tape with a MP3 file? I played Journey on MAME for DOS and Windows and wondered why they did not have the option to use a MP3 file of Separate Ways (Worlds Apart).
@dallase18 жыл бұрын
In the Bonus Round it played a real Journey Song off a looping Cassette tape the song was Separate Ways Worlds Apart.
@zerobyte8026 жыл бұрын
MAME supports playing Separate Ways via the sample system. It’s basically an MP3 of the song. In the real arcade version, the tape was a continuous loop of tape that just resumed playing the song wherever it was the last time the instruments got stolen. The last time I played this on MAME, it always started at the beginning of the song. I really enjoyed this game as a kid and would always feed it a token or two.

I've played this game, and it is SUPER hard! The first part of each round is easy, but then it gets hard when you have to start shooting. I think the trick for the second half of the levels is to do rapid fire and stand in one place or move left to right and make your way up while doing rapid fire (at least it works for steve perry's). Be careful of those blinking things though when they get close to you, they will touch you or you will touch them as you're tring to clear the others, and you lose a life! Jonathan cain's is harder in regards to getting to the instrument as those you may hit one of those planks as you jump down to another platform or when you're starting the level! Steve Smith's is the easiest to clear for the first round since it's just jumping on the drums, but be sure to jump on all of the drums twice once you have jsut one last red drum to turn blue, as you will get a 1k point bonus after turning that final red drum blue! ross is all about timing and direction. you should wait until you're at a certain height then jump either left or right (depending on where you are) to the next stump. Neal's is perhaps the hardest since it's all about precision (mainly because it's like operation - you hit the wall, you're done!) so pay CAREFUL attention to where you are and try to not press an arrow key for too long or to short of time. staying and one place and doing rapid fire will help you get more points to get to that extra life. The final part, i haven't even gotten to yet, so i have no advice on how to beat it!
