Journey is an American rock band formed in San Francisco in 1973 by former members of Santana, the Steve Miller Band, and Frumious Bandersnatch. The band as of 2021 consists of guitarist/vocalist Neal Schon (the last remaining original member), keyboardist/guitarist/vocalist Jonathan Cain and keyboardist/vocalist Jason Derlatka, drummer/vocalist Deen Castronovo, bassist Todd Jensen, and lead vocalist Arnel Pineda.
Journey had their biggest commercial success between 1978 and 1987, when Steve Perry was lead vocalist; they released a series of hit songs, including "Don't Stop Believin'" (1981), which in 2009 became the top-selling track in iTunes history among songs not released in the 21st century. Escape, Journey's seventh and most successful album, reached number one on the Billboard 200 and yielded another of their most popular singles, "Open Arms". The 1983 follow-up album, Frontiers, was almost as successful in the United States, reaching number two and spawning several successful singles; it broadened the band's appeal in the United Kingdom, where it reached number six on the UK Albums Chart. Journey enjoyed a successful reunion in the mid-1990s and have since regrouped twice; first with Steve Augeri from 1998 to 2006, then with Arnel Pineda from 2007 onward.
Sales have resulted in 25 gold and platinum albums, in addition to the 18-time platinum RIAA Diamond Certified, 1988's Greatest Hits album. They have had 19 top-40 singles in the US (the second-most without a Billboard Hot 100 number-one single behind Electric Light Orchestra with 20), six of which reached the top 10 of the US chart and two of which reached number one on other Billboard charts, and a number-six hit on the UK Singles Chart in "Don't Stop Believin'". In 2005, "Don't Stop Believin'" reached number three on iTunes downloads. Originally a progressive rock band, Journey was described by AllMusic as having cemented a reputation as "one of America's most beloved (and sometimes hated) commercial rock/pop bands" by 1978, when they redefined their sound by embracing pop arrangements on their fourth album, Infinity.
According to the Recording Industry Association of America, Journey has sold 52 million albums in the US, making them the 11th-best selling band. Their worldwide sales have reached over 100 million records globally, making them one of the world's best-selling bands of all time. A 2005 USA Today opinion poll named Journey the fifth-best US rock band in history. Their songs have become arena rock staples and are still played on rock radio stations around the world. Journey ranks number 96 on VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. Journey was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the class of 2017. I saw them in Biloxi. Front Row. It was a magical night & filled me with such joy. I lost my father in October & he was smiling down on me seeing me living life to its fullest. The song Be Good To Yourself took on a more poignant meaning to me since he passed. My Dad & I fully rocked out to the song that night. Special thanks to Arnel who came over to me a lot….wonder if he somehow sensed my true joy. Several people around me remarked about to me after the show. I am a huge fan of Perry & Augeri. Arnel won me over that night in his own way & his voice was heavenly

Arnel Pineda masters the song perfectly and can sing LIKE in the studio recording WHILE he is doing Concerts on LIVE !! Night after Night !!! His vocal versatility, talent, and high energy are the FUEL that keeps the Jurney Concert rocking for many years !!! *AP brings such joyful energy and an international mix! Still packed arenas/stadiums and sold-out tickets, it's unbelievable !! It's nice to be able to watch great video footage like this but it's hard to beat the exciting Journey experience of watching in person the LIVE Journey Concert-, and singing along at the venue !! -- it's an incredible feeling, It's worth every penny! Let me just add this here and now. For 17 years I have refused to accept Arnel as Journeys frontman. Though I consider myself not to be racist in the least, it was largely due to him not fitting the mold to a degree. For instance look at Steve Augeri. I fully accepted him immediately, he was Steve Perry ish. Coming from Tall Stories, when I first heard him/them, I actually thought it was Journey. He really was an easy fit for me due to that lineage. Back to Arnel, he's been here 17 years now, sweet baby Jesus, he's got gray hair now. Though, in my perfect world it would be Steve Perry up there, Arnel has kept the flame glowing bright and strong for almost two decades. Arnel, I apologize for my resistance to you. Of course what I say here is of no importance to anyone or to the grand scheme of things. It really only reflects my shortcomings, which are many. From now on though, Arnel, thank you for being an important part of the sound track to my life... Long live Journey! 😊

True, this year 2024 would be a very long stretch, after this current Tour, by Summer there would be another Tour that Journey would do! YES, we know what happened with SA, even SP said the same thing, that his voice had suffered, and got burned out the first time he left. The problem with Arnel was that after his Tour with Journey, he used to join his old band group in the Phil, which is The Zoo to help them out and profits mostly help the needy...But he was NOT helping himself, as his vocals may one day shut down all of a sudden!!

They have been playing the same songs since they reunited with lead singer Chop Chop. I mean can't you guys mix it up with other songs on other albums? There are so many other great journey songs that should be played live. Here are a few. City Of the Angles, Patiently, Line of fire, Dixie highway, Too Late, City of the Angels, Lady Luck, etc……. C'mon, guys do the right thing for the die-hard journey fans instead of shoving the album Escape down our throats and playing Loving Touching and Squeezing. The only blues classic.🤮🤮🤮 I mean even that song is getting sickening. How about putting the song Marry Had A Little Lamb instead of Loving Touching And Squeezing in its place Seriously. @dannycorr..I agree with you, I would like to hear Journey songs originally sung by Arnel, such as ""Äftër All These Years"" for example, BUT don't know why Neal Schon, and J Cain who decides the Tracklistings on LIVE Tours comes up to all Steve Perry songs, sometimes it makes me wonder that SP made that agreement with them so that SP would not pursue suing them again! .. The new song added was"Let It Rain" at times, just because it's mostly to showcase the guitar expertise of Neal, which is the very least of my favorite..

But remember there was Robert Fleischmann before Steve Perry. Yes, Steve Perry brought the Journey to the top, but Arnel is continuing keeping the band alive until now. And please, Steve left a long time ago and there were other lead vocals after him and before Arnel got the job as a new lead vocalist. And Steve even acknowledged Arnel for his hardworks. Bitter Perry's fans are still in denial that Steve will not go back to the band. He's done with it. Let's give them the credit they deserve.
