In this video, I wanted to share a little about my story in relation to simple and slow living, dealing with anxiety about money, the fear of the unknown, and the unpredictability of life. My name is Paola, I work as a teacher, artist, and creator in rural Washington State. I live in a little rented home with my rabbit Mr Darcy, pup Aegir, imagination, and books.

@@nadiaidrissi3631 True, but also before. I got this channel recommended alongside Leena & Jonna, both of whom started well before the pandemic. Kalle's story is similar. One issue with modern life is how disconnected it is from simple living, how little your actions correlate with your needs. Selling shoes, coding webshops. With this lifestyle there is much more focus on providing for yourself and your loved ones. My parents and elders had the same message, albeit with different words.

Sending you love, hugs, peace and light! I'm in my early 60s and have faced many anxious times. Weathered many storms in my lifetime. Anxiety crawled in each time I lost a loved one. My Momma, Daddy, younger brother and then my husband. Each time I was so uncertain,affraid and anxious about what was going to change in my life. How I was going to get through life without them. For me my Faith kept me going to face those fears and grieve , process and live on for my son and others who loved me. I realized how brave I was after the death of my husband. Kept our farm going for 3 1/3 years one. Until my health took a turn and I had to leave the farm and move into a little 2 bedroom cottage and begin again. I'm at peace. I create hardbound journals to feed my soul. I am blessed ! I love your gentle spirit and seeing the bunny and squirrel come to life in your video !! Hugs !!

I lost everything back in the 80's due to divorce. It took me a long time to become financially secure again, but being debt free and owning my own little ten acre homestead in my old age is such a blessing. Your videos are also a blessing I always look forward to. God bless! 🙄💖

"If I lose everything, I still have my soul" Beautiful truth that I am embodying. As most people have lost their jobs due to the pandemic, I was fortunate to be able to continue working. Yet everything else was lost. Familly, friends all of it. But spirit removed so much so that I would return to my soul. At first I was crushed to have lost so much, yet my sensitivity and introversion lead me to peace I have never experienced. I have returned to my soul and peace and have never been happier. It took time to let go of the life I had to allow the life that wanted to "be" to emerge. I love your kindred spirit and videos. My soul finds comfort in your wisdom. I love that you said you ‘live below your means, and you’re doing just fine’. Being off grid, I cannot consume in the same way I used to when I rented an apartment, and that has lead to some worry from loved ones that my standard of living is not up to par. I tell them the same things you mention: my needs are being met and I am living a lifestyle more conducive to my values. The only thing is that I genuinely do get lonely, because I no longer have my 9 to 5 job. These videos fill the void a little bit though ❤️

I can't thank you enough for posting these videos. I really love them and I find after I've watched one I immediately feel calmer and less anxious, but mostly I feel like I, too, can give myself permission to slow down, embrace my innate introvert, and find joy in my home, my tiny garden and the simple things. My life's biggest struggle was always my introverted personality and truthfully it seems to bother others more than myself. I've always been told I'm very pretty and I suppose my looks don't match my personality and people don't know what to think of it. They assume I should be outgoing and bubbly and it's just not who I am. I'm much older than you, but your courage to follow your heart's calling is truly inspiring.

I have newly discovered your beautiful, peaceful messages. My husband and I lived in Alaska for almost four years in our 15 by 12 ft. log cabin we built together while teaching school in the remote wilderness. We were the very last couple in the U.S. granted the last five acres of free open to entry land. Twenty five years ago I moved from the overcrowded, expensive San Francisco Bay Area in CA to a small town on the tip of the Olympic Peninsula in WA state. What a blessed difference it has made in my life, my peace of mind, my joy. Such a sense of community here where people know each other, take time to nurture friendships and help out when needed. I have two trailheads at the end of my driveway and just love enjoying walks through the Douglas firs, madrone, and cedars. Lots of wild berries from June through September. Our town is surrounded by trees, water and snow capped mountains. I live mindfully each day and feel such gratitude for my life. Thank you for sharing your art and peaceful wisdom with us. In every one of your videos I find so many things to appreciate and admire. This one is no different. I love how you not ok only hold a thing but you caress it, you let it know how much it is appreciated. I love the focus on the little things, the seemingly unimportant things like a sprinkling of seeds on a snow drift for hungry birds when their food sources are becoming scarce. The "primitive" paintings on the doorway of the galloping rabbit and the contemplative squirrel provide a magical touch of whimsy and imagination that I wish I had the talent to recreate. It's so perfect to come across this today. I've also spent my early adulthood living on scarcely little and saving every penny for almost a decade. Today, I just found a beautiful teal prius v to support my dreams of earth-conscious travel, and a beautiful Haven hammock tent to spend my summer in - inhabiting the wild. I never spend this much at once, and it's creating an amazing flood of relief within me to allow myself to finally live and receive! Next month I'm going to find a craftsman to help me finally complete my half-finished DIY tiny home, that was on hold for many years while I battled - and triumphed over - a serious illness. Thank you for the affirmation of balance in finding the ability to say yes to the beautiful things that allow a wonderous life, held within simple abundance.

For ideas, would love to see more of the beautiful nature that surrounds you (mountains make my soul come alive, but they're a far drive for me), gardening when the season comes, and maybe even some daily routines - how do you like to begin and end your days? What does cleaning look like? What is it like living in a tiny house? And honestly, you could make dozens of book-related/inspired videos (esp kidlit classics) and I would be so happy 😍
